Stephens County, OK - Oil & Gas Discussion archives

Hutch, I just recvd in mail an order 502780 regarding the Poteets, asking for an exception to occ rules 165-10-13-9 and 164-10-17-11. 17 02n 04w. I have no clue what this means. Do you? The hearing for this is July 6th. It says it doesn’t effect royalty owners ( I think )… Just very curious!

DB, On May 6th I was told “within 60 days” so I figure if we don’t have DOs by Wed or Thur of next week it’s probably going to be July for first check.

  • Diane, I should’ve said statutory interest.

Diane, I have heard of that happening but my experience has been if you get them back in time you get paid the same month. They might pay sooner to avoid large interest payments if they are up against the 6 month deadline.

John - I was under the impression that order was for the Honeycutts and not 10 additional wells in addition to the Honeycutts. It’s hard to interpret if that’s the case or not.

Linda, that’s the way I remember it too but could’ve changed during the big rush to lease.

No Poteet DOs this month hoping for July. If I didn’t want the money so bad I would say wait 'til 2016, delay the taxes and collect a bunch of interest.

Could someone give us information on what is happening in Sec. 7:2N,R4W? Mineral’s purchase offers at $15500 per net acre. We have lease with Energy Lease, and DO for Chalfant1-7H. Is there further imminent development?

Robert, I am pretty sure there will be multiple wells there in the future for 7-2N-4W. CLR has such a large inventory of leases, that they are having to drill one well in each section before coming back to drill the infill wells. Energy Lease is their contract land group. If I were you, I would not sell. Some sections are getting six-12 wells more.

I was thinking that Energy Leasing was the one that leased ours for Newfield and that Jackfork leased (ours anyway) for Continental. Is that not right?

Huey, I agree. Kind of confusing if the 10 well application is in addition to existing wells or not. My point was the estimated reserves for both oil and gas in section 15 included in the application.

Hutch…thanks for the map…it’s great! Was wondering if the Jarod was there and I just couldn’t find it or if it’s only Woodford shale wells or ??? Do you know?

CR intends to drill 10 wells in sect 15, 2N4W. Pretty impressive estimated reserve volumes on the application.

Michael P…don’t know whether you are talking to this Linda but I’m the last one to post on here with that name so I’m guess so. But I’m not quite sure what you are asking if you are talking to me. Our last well was the Jarod and we’ve been receiving checks on it for about four months now such as they are. We got one great check on it (for the first four months but hardly anything since. That was a well that was killed while fracing others but I’ve heard it’s coming back. If they are drilling all those wells in section 15 2n4w I suspect all our wells may be killed again when they are fraced since ours are Newfield but guess that’s the hazards of the game. Maybe they will all recover ok. If not we are still blessed!

Map showing Honeycutts and Vanarkles, a picture is worth a thousand words:

Really appreciate the great M Barnes information and perspective. The Company that approached with the purchase proposal was Blackhawk Mineral Partners. It helps me to realize that this heavy Stephens trend of multi wells on one padsite is spreading. I just had not realized how active that was. Thank you again for the good responses you offer.

CD 201406498 Section 15 see the map for the other half of 15 with the wells that go into 22.

Woodford Original in place calculated recoverable 4,054,800 bbls oil, 75,453mmcf (75.453 BCF) gas

Honeycutts are 22-15XH, Vanarkles are 15-10XH both are multi well, multi units including 10,15 and 22-2N/4W.

Thanks for the map Hutch. My interest is in section 9 & 10. I have been monitoring the Vanarkle wells. Any news on the NFX Virginia 1-09H-04X? It should be down to permitted depth in the Goddard.

John…what are those estimated reserves in section 15? They’re our side door neighbor.

Thanks Martha for that information and link. I did find the Jarrod. The reason I didn’t find it before is they have it marked as going across section 9 2n4w as well as 16 but they ended up not being able to go across 9. The name is posted on 9 so I wasn’t looking there to begin with. Martha, Hutch and the rest in Houston or even north Texas sounds like they are getting really heavy rains with flash floods from the tropical storms and OKC is expecting those rains this afternoon and evening. I have an appt. in OKC this afternoon so thinking about wearing my life jacket! lol Stay safe everyone…“turn around don’t drown” is what the news is saying about driving through that high water. Bet those roads down at the diggings are a muddy mess already as we’ve been getting some really big rains lately.

Linda, so far we have dodged the bullet but I’m a little concerned about this afternoon because my wife works in downtown Houston.
