Stephens County, OK - Oil & Gas Discussion archives

Lynn, CR is done drilling the Lowrance 2-10H. It is my understanding that CR plans to wait and frack it simultaneously with the Vanarkle wells.

What did I just get? Something about a Cause CD, and pages and pages of names, and Newfield as the applicant. I have no idea what this means. It is for sections 16 and 21, Twsp 2 North, Range 5 West. Help, please?

Barbara,

Spacing, Multi-Unit, Location exceptions, and Pooling applications have all been filed. You can search here for cause numbers 201502559 through 20150263 to see the documents. These cover sections 16 and 21 in 2N-5W.

Michael and Rick, thank you for the explanation; I understand much better now. Rick, you are correct in that we received the identical paperwork. Thank you for the PDF. I leased about year and a half ago. I must be just a little excited since I wrote that a couple of hours ago and forgot to click to add the comment! The information is much appreciated!

This is a silly question but is Expro a legit company?

Trent, please move over to the ā€œmarket placeā€. You have done this in every county and have been gently reminded to read the rules. Another gentle reminder.

Barbara…you and Rick have more than just a little bit to be excited about…Congratulations!

Thanks Linda. But after having about 6 of these canceled in various phases of applications in the last 6 months, I’m going to contain my full excitement until I see a rig in place!

I need to get by there and see if they have started on the pad yet.

If you are asking about 16-2N-5W, most likely all gas, maybe a tiny bit of condensate.

Praises for the hubby recovery!

Linda, thank you for your wonderful positive attitude! You made me smile! After almost 49 years of marriage, hubby and I have learned to caution each other occasionally by saying, ā€œdon’t go up in that airplaneā€, meaning of course that the thing might not fly. I am not in that airplane, but I admit to having taken a step or two toward the airport! After the love of my life had to undergo a triple bypass AND brain surgery within a three month period last spring, and has completely recovered with no heart or brain damage, I will not tempt fate by asking for more. We are blessed enough already! If a check should arrive sometime, I will have a thank you session with my sweet departed daddy who left me these leases, and the good Lord who saw fit to bless us.

Just for the sake of satisfying curiosity, are ya’ll thinking gas, oil, or a mixture in that location?

Where can I look to see if pooling orders have been issued on a section?

Gay, If you don’t want to go through this tedious process I’ll be glad to look it up for you.

Michael, I know where the OAP Orders search is, but is there a way to search by legal description since I don’t know the order number?

Barbara…WTI stands for West Texas Intermediate (I believe) grade of oil and someone on here said our oil in the SCOOP is a little better grade than that but not as good as the ā€œBrentā€ Crude which is selling today for about $65 something. I hope I’m telling that right and if not someone correct me please.

Yes, WTI is West Texas Intermediate. OK is better grade since it is sweeter.

Brent Crude is a European grade which is also sweeter (less sulphur), hence a better price. It takes processing to get the sulphur out of the ā€œsourā€ grades. WTI and Brent are basic grades that prices are set on, then deviations from there depending upon quality.

John, they think they will still make money. The gas well may have some condensate with it which sells for close or equal to oil prices. Also, the gas here is a wet gas which sells for better prices than just methane at close to $3.

Stephen,

Nothing but some continued leasing which I think is a good sign. CR even cleaned up some lease details earlier this year. With the success on the Woodford verticals in the offset section by Citation, I would really like to see a horizontal well drilled here.

Rick,

Thanks for the inof.

The web application I wrote about is searchable by multiple criteria including Section, township and range. Maybe you are looking at something different but with what I’m talking about you can track spacing, pooling, location exception, increased density and more from application through final order.

Thanks Michael! If it seems to be too much trouble, I may take you up on your offer.
