Stephens County, OK - Oil & Gas Discussion archives

I’d like to hear from anyone who has had dealings with American Land Acquisitions. We just received a lease offer of $2,000 per acre 3/16ths for Section 4 Township 1N Range 6W. There hasn’t been any other lease activity for us since our Bearcat Land (Continental) lease expired last October. I don’t like this new company’s approach of saying that the deal has to be completed by Tuesday. I have learned very much following this list closely for the last 4 years, and know the advice is take your time and the first offer usually isn’t the best offer. I have seen several posts describing the preferred lease language generously provided by M Barnes and others regarding “no deductions” and depth clause and others, but of course now can’t find them. Are they collected or posted somewhere within reach? Is anyone else getting offers for this area a bit west west of the “hot” action? The leasing agent talked of two big players merging and wanting to take a position in this area, but of course he wouldn’t identify anyone or provide details except to say this lease had to be agreed within the week—seems like a sales tactic. I’d appreciate any comment or advice.

Sales tactic in my opinion. Nothing is final until a pooling order is filed which is nowhere near at this point. Friend me and I can help you with the language.

The word Seems was omitted when I posted. Should read “Seems like there…”

That’s encouraging Linda. I hope the Celesta wells hit it big!

Refresh me as to where the Celesta wells are located Hutch or John. If you guys have some of those we’re excited for y’all. Wish we had some new ones of our own to be watching but glad for those who do!

Linda, Celestas are 5-2N/4W & 32-3N/4W. I don’t have anything there but directly south is 8 & 17 and I’m in 17. They could drill Springers right over the top of the Woodfords. I can dream I guess!

Linda, I’m in offset like Hutch - Section 9 & 10.

Yes, they certainly do Hutch!

Someday they may finish the Sympsons in Section 6 & 7 & 18 2N 4W-- & 31 3N 4W. I hope! It will be 2 years since the applications in Sept. Whew! It’s been a long wait!

Yelp Hutch…that’s close enough to cause excitement for you folks! Sweet Dreams!

Like you said Linda, price of oil needs to go up first.

If they come on down to 17 Hutch they might as well come next door to 16 for some Springer wells. The Jarod is the only one on that section that is in the Springer and it’s the best one we have now. I’d like some more of that action but would just like to see the oil and gas prices go up at this point! Looks to me like most of the big action is going to take place up around Kingfisher County but there is still some new drilling down at the diggings in 2N 4W and 3N 4W. Praise the Lord!

Don’t forget about the 2 Jo Ann wells in Section 18, Township 2 North, Range 4 West and Section 19, Township 2 North, Range 4 West. So there is “some” activity in this neck of the woods! (Newfield)

Even though I would love to have more wells drilled on us, I’m afraid that if they keep up the drilling and bringing these great wells in there will be an oil glut and drive the prices down even further. Maybe they will choke them back enough to not do that, ya think? I just hate to sell our oil for such low prices like they used to be!

Thanks LW and Lea! Hate getting older but love the new friends I’ve made on the forum…you guys being some of the best!!!

Hello there! Hope everyone doing well! I found on the EnergyNet sealed bidding website that Chevron’s assets in the SOHOT, Waterflood, and Shoveltum has been purchased. Does anyone know who bought it? I reached out to Chevron about this, and of course they told that they could not speak about it yet. Does anyone know anything, or has anyone got new division orders?

K Dawn Bauer - I think you have my phone number. I will discuss the Chevron to Stephens and Johnson sale with you. I do not want to post any more of what I know in this forum.

Thank you Soonerpe! I noticed on that document that not all wells were transferred. How can I find out if my wells were a part of this? I’m pretty sure they are, but how can I know for sure? Also, if my wells were transferred; what kind of paperwork will be sent out to me?

Thank you for your advice and information.
