Stephens County, OK - Oil & Gas Discussion archives

That makes sense, then. Thanks for the info. I really appreciate it.

Kenneth…you could always tell Continental that you would like to have $1500. for the 3/16 or ask for $1000. for a 1/5th (which is what I would do). The last lease we received from Continental that’s what we did. It never hurts to ask. If you wait for the pooling you might lose out if they decide again not to drill. That’s just my opinion which is worth just what you had to pay for it. lol Best Wishes!

15 1N6W. Bearcat Land has offered $1000 and 3/16 on behalf of Continental. In December 2014 Section 15 was pooled at $1500 & 3/16 but no drilling ever occurred. I’ve learned from the last go-round not to accept a 2 year extension and to insist on a depth clause. Do ya’ll think it’s reasonable to hold out for the $1500 in the last PO?

Zack…that’s just what I was thinking that they just told you they wouldn’t be releasing. With Kenneth just getting that offer and being that close to you they must be thinking of doing something.

With the price of oil dropping some and the price of gas rising the oil companies may be looking into going more to the west side of the SCOOP where the wells are more gassy ya think?

Could be–I intend to find out who else might be interested.

Ken, What you were told seems to be correct. They leased our acreage in 14-1N-6W, but were not interested in leasing our acreage in 16-1N-6W.

Thanks for the response Linda. The Bearcat Landman told me 15 1N6W is right on the western area of where they are currently interested.

Got papers yesterday that for a second got me excited. They were papers from the attorney’s office that represent Newfield saying “Increased Density” on section 34 2n4w and it said “Final Notice” so I’m thinking “OBOY, we getting another well” but after checking it out it was only the papers telling what the final percentages are going to be on the first well to each section. Just as we had read earlier we in 34 only get a small fraction over 10% and section 27 gets the rest. Believe it said they only went 609 feet into section 34. Talk about a let down!

S D, I don’t know about the leasing but I think Stephens County is kind of quiet right now, sadly the action seems to be more in Grady County and north, in the STACK.

Wondering that myself, Jerry?!? Has anyone heard anything about activity or leasing in the 1-1N-6W area? Have heard that our family group may be getting lease offers.

Brentwood Resources and Continental Resourcesd were leasing in 1-1N-6W early in 2017

Activity that I know of is mostly happening in Garvin Co. with the wells being drilled just south of where we live and of course the stuff going on up north in the Stack.

There are still rigs down at the corner of Highway 76 and 29 close to the new Newfield office (actually just east of there). When we went down a couple of weeks ago the one closest of the office still had a lot a pipe in it which it has had the last couple of times we went through before. Hubby said they must be having some kind of trouble with it but we don’t know anything about it other than that. There were those two rigs up and I believe they were some being drill in a slightly different location than the 3 that were sitting there before. I believe that’s probably section 23 2n4w that they are sitting on. Also looked like they were building a location close to where the first Tina well was drilled close to the Stephens and Garvin County line. That’s about all I know. Still a lot of service company vehicles and trucks running up and down the road but not many drilling rigs. I figure that’s the reason for not much news on here because if they can’t say something nice they don’t say anything at all. Wish I had more good news!

Does anyone know why there are no recent post?

My son said where equipment workers were building a new pit to hold fresh water for fracking over east of here about 4 miles and back south a few miles on Rush Creek they counted 30 rattlesnakes before they quit counting!!! OH MY!!! Talk about scary!!!

Has anyone checked out the link that Lynn posted to see if it’s real news or another fake article? If it’s true it sounds scary.

It’s true Linda. The Saudis have been 50% owners for almost 30 years. They are splitting assets that they were in partnership with Shell on.

Does anyone know the going renewal price for sections 2 and 3 1N-4W Stephens county. Lease expiring soon. Just a ballpark figure. EleanorLake. Lake.e@sbcglobal.net

Anyone have a map of Stephens County with the Townships listed?
