Bryce, you certainly can have an attorney look at your lease form, but these days most leases are standard. There are several people on the forum that can guide you in the right direction. There are certainly some clauses you want to have added.
Timothy Dowd of Elias, Books, etc etc in OKC has helped our family. His name comes up periodically and I believe others on here have used his firm.
Are their prices reasonable?

Some info from a NewsOK chat Linda wanted to pass on. The linked data may change in a few days however. http://m.newsok.com/drilling-ramps-back-up-in-oklahoma-as-prices-re…
Pretty foggy and overcast in Stephens County yesterday, but I did see 3 drilling rigs in 2N4W. Looked like sections 18, 25 & 26. Saw another one just across the line in Carter County.
Anyone have any info on more possible Springer wells in 2N4W? Specifically in sections 10 and 11? I heard that I should keep an eye out! @,@
NFX has permitted another Springer well in section 9 Michael. CR has an interest in section 9, so assume they are aware of Springer production 330’ from section 10.
Don’t know about 10 and 11. Believe the Mark was in the Springer but is in section 27 and a tiny bit in 34. It was a really good well they said. The ones last year in the Springer came in good so we have high hopes of some more drilling in it. Best Wishes
So is the well being permitted only going through 9 and is it padded in 9 or in another section? Yes, I remember now that the Wright wells were in the Woodford. I do remember that newest well being called the Virginia after Virginia Wright I believe. (A VERY NICE LADY)
Believe the Jarod was supposed to go through our 16 and on into 9 but because of some kind of problem they didn’t go as far as section 9. It was in the Springer and was a good well. Guess they decided it was worth trying again…maybe from a different pad area.
Padded in NW corner of 16 going through all of 9 Linda. I think it will be same pad as Wright 1-09H.
Trying to think what the well/wells in section 9 are called. Are they Wrights or Condits or ???
Linda, the Woodford wells are the Wright 1-6. The Springer well is the Virginia 1-9H. The permitted well is supposed to be the Virginia 2-9H. You are correct about Jared well. It was originally permitted for sections 16 & 9, but got fouled in section 16.
John…really kind of surprised they are only going to go through one section. Now days seems like they at least try to go through 2 sections.
Thanks for the info, yall!
Boy, life has changed for a lot of us since the SCOOP came into existence! I am thankful for it every day. We have done our best to give to the Lord’s work as well as other worthy causes. I hope you all remember where all our blessings come from! It truly is a blessing to give!
Agree with you whole heartedly Michael. It’s a blessing from God and we never need to forget that. God said if we give as he wants us to that he will give it back to us in abundance and he said “You can test me on this”. That’s the only thing he said we should test him about. We believe it…end of today’s sermon!
Thanks for letting me know, Linda. I can breathe again, anyway. So close, yet so far…bummer.
Linda, I thought I saw on the OCC Site that another well is planned for 27 and 34. Not sure how far into 34 it is planned to go but keep’em coming.
Sorry Barbara…if you are referring to the Jared well we talked about it went only through 16 2n4w and this new Virginia is only padded in 16 2n4w but will only be perforated in 9 2n4w.
