Ouch, did they put your knee back together or put in a new one?

Linda: Permit to drill into sec 34 2N-4W (in your dreams) approved 10/19/2016 and named ā€œMARK 1H-27Xā€. CD #'s 201604038 and —4039. Operator is Newfield and it looks like the well location is the NE corner of section 27 (not in 22) and is to be drilled on a bearing of 180 degrees with 2/3 in sec 27 and 1/3 in sec 34. They are going for the springer formation at 11504ft and have a 640 acre spacing. I understand that Newfield asked for the hearing to be moved foreward as a rig was available and drilling equipment was already ordered. Won’t the platform be directly west of hiway 76 one mile south of the intersection with hiway 29?I know you will be keeping an eye on the location. LOL Don

Does some of this new activity include 16-2N-5W? I just got home from a hospital stay - can you hear my heart thumping? I had an accident and wrecked my knee, so will be in a wheelchair for 3 months.

Oh my, Barbara…hate to hear about your accident! We’ll be in prayer for that. I don’t know about any action in 16 2n5w because I don’t know how to navigate the OCC website but will be looking around down there soon. Does that sit on the north side of highway 29? I guess it would be a few miles closer to Marlow than our 16 2n4w (somebody tell me how many miles between the two please) so I will see if I can see anything next time.

Don…thanks for the information about the new MARK well (short dreams are better than no dreams). Appreciate anything else anyone hears being passed this way.

More rigs seem to be going up around the countryside especially up toward the STACK. My son that works in the oilfield said he thinks that will make the price of oil come back down which makes since of course (supply and demand) but still excited to see it starting back up.

directions… not direction are correct

Ok…here’s the scoop or the skinny on what’s going on down in the SCOOP more specifically on Sec. 27 and 34 2n4w…the drilling rig is up and drilling. YAHOO! It’s a smaller rig and the drilling mud was pouring out and into the pit. Our little dream well is on it way.

Barbara…we went to find out about 16 2n5w. When we got to the section line beside 16 there was a rig sign on the road that was Patterson #287. We turn north there and after going pass section 9 there was a location where there was a lot of activity on Sec. 4 2n5w. Looked like they were fixing to drill or had just finished. Our guess was just getting ready as we could see the Flange in the hole in the middle with a yellow caution tape around it. There were trucks moving around, a little backhoe grading around the hole. There was some bags of drilling mud (that’s what it looked like anyway) stacked around. It had a Vitruvian sign with the description of the location on it. All we got was that it was Section 4 2n5w. Barbara was the well you were wondering about going to be drilled from Sec. 4 through 9 and 16 ? If so that’s probably it.

Coming back up toward Erin Springs there was a Cactus rig # 166 (I believe) sign on the edge of highway 76 and Garvin Co. Paint Rd. as we call it. Don’t really know where that one is unless it’s the one that’s close to Foley’s place.

WOW Thanks for the map.

It is fractured and that’s not a problem. I jammed the ā€œknobā€ on top of the tibia down into the bone, which, if I don’t stay off of it, will cause my knee to bow out to the side and make me very unstable. The depression is about 3 mm, which isn’t bad, but I don’t dare let it get any worse.

Good luck Barbara, work hard on your rehab

Thanks, Linda and M Barnes! Nice to see things are heating up some in the patch! I got an offer this morning for my Grady County property - it is on that county’s page. I had my cancer surgery, and bought a new Vespa scooter so I could get to radiation therapy. Bad idea.

Received a map from Newfield showing the proposed well Mark 1H-27X in section 27 and 34 2N 4W. Map is attached. Notice that the line for the Mark goes to the end of section 34. Not sure if that’s how far they are now thinking they will go in section 34, but it is significantly longer than the previous map we received in prior notifications.

Oh, Linda, thank you so much! I am not at all sure of anything about 9 to 16, but it was to be a multi-unit well. I will have to wait until my husband gets home to get the paperwork out. I am surprised because I never got notice of a permit being obtained. I do hope this is it though because it would certainly be helpful right now!

Here is a map of Stephens with the roads and S-T-R. Helpful for finding wells.

M Barnes, Great map! Thanks!

Ryan, Thank you for the map. Please forgive my ignorance, but is the Mark well in the Springer formation? Why do all the blue Woodford wells in S27 curve around at the end? Is it because there is a fault line at the end? Or was it just stretching the existing drilling capabilities so much that the tail end could no longer be maintained straight? The green wells in S2 are all old Bromide formation wells? Does that mean there is a fault in S2?

Thanks, I’m just learning.

Michael, thanks for the good luck! I have a stack of instructions and the therapists put me through the paces before discharge so I know what to do. I’m good about doing it, too, because I know it works! Now I need to rent a wheelchair ramp so I can get to my radiation therapy. I can’t leave the house until then. Boyohboy, would some lease bonus dollars be welcome right now.

Robert, I am totally unsure of the curves at the beginnings of wells. I was thinking it may be because the bit goes down before it begins to travel horizontally. Just a guess. Yes, the Mark well will be in the Springer formation. I don’t believe the map has any data on fault lines.

Ryan, I’m thinking on this new map the Hefner 1-34 was the vertical well they drilled on it in the late 70’s which came in at very good 70 bbls. of oil per day. We got 1 check for the first 4 months and then they plugged it. Someone told us it was because it made too much salt water. It just cost too much to have it hauled off at that time. They didn’t have all these disposal wells around then.

I’m thinking where the swiggley lines are is where the Yandell’s are padded and run across 27. The ones running across 22 would be the Honeycutts but I don’t really understand why the new red line that puts the new Mark well to be drilled from the SW corner of 22 starts there because the rig is sit up on the NE corner of 27??? which is where the original papers said it would start and run across 27 and only about 33 1/3 across 34. Gosh, I sure hope this last one is right but if so it’s padded in the wrong section. Huh???

Barbara, are your minerals in 34 2n4w not leased at this time? You said some lease bonus money would be good right now but ours is already leased out to CR so we (husband and I) wouldn’t be due any lease bonus money. We were kind of hoping they would wait to drill until next May 2017 so we could lease it out to them again but guess we can’t have it both ways this time.

I did notice on line tonight on the Stephen’s Co. Records that there are two more oil and gas leases that were recorded in 34 2n4w just a couple of days ago so I guess they are still getting new leases even as they start drilling.
