Noble County, OK - Oil & Gas Discussion archives

Will Rogers said everyone is ignorant, just about different subjects.

I would have to do some research on that one. Is your interest in lot 5,6 &7. What is you concern with the total acres in the section.

ron that is correct on 5,6, and 7 , i was looking at the section i was just curious about how many acres i think ours is about 160

1/9th of 156 is 17&1/3 acres divided by ? Is this right?

Nancy I not sure what the legal is describing. I will work on it.

Virginia, hahaha I like your example of Vegas, however, I think you can make a sure bet in Vegas, that you’ll lose especially, with this economy! The casino’s have to keep the lights on … LOL

Virginia-- 61,000 minus taxes is a lot better than trying to make $200 doing a gig at “Bob’s Country Bunker” after drinking $300 worth of beer.

Thanks for all the info!

Jake,

I owned all my minerals and surface and take care of it long distance and don’t have a problem. I wouldn’t want to sell my minerals as they can do real good on bonus if nothing else. I have a few wells now and then, some come - other go, so it’s a small check here and there. Some people think they are big checks and like my husband says, you get enough small checks they start adding up. Some are big checks to Oklahoman’s, but to Texas they are small, this is a joke guy’s.

Ron,

Thank you tell us where the horizontal well pooling is. Has all those section been spaced? I know some of mine haven’t been spaced yet.

Larry The two wells in 19, one was started 8-6-11the second 11-30-11.

The different depth could still be the same formation. In some places in Okla. they are drilling 6 or more well per section. This Horiz. shale drilling for oil is new & hot in Okla.

Ron,

OCC web site isn’t the easiest to use and they are getting ready to change it again. It will have lots more information I think, but it will probably take a while to figure out again. I think I found the pooling part. Thanks.

Ron—Thanks So Much For The Map!–It’s Seems That It’s So Easy To Get These Numbers Wrong. I apologize for being so new to this, but when I read “Section 24 21N-01E”, Or “Section 13 21N-01E”, and then try to find my section on maps like the one I used yesterday, It has “21N” written on it. And I think it’s the right section. Now That I look at your map, I see that my probable land locations are the sections 13 & 24 right outside Perry, where Rt64 bisects between them (with "21N"being a designation inside section 24 or 13), whereas you had thought it was “Section 21” to the East? Sorry for this confusion.

Anyway, thank you for orienting me.

Now—I have a question—There is another section 13 & 24 where State RT 64 Bisects the two further to the east of Perry that I could “interpret” as being my sections. SO CONFUSING!—If I didn’t know that my sections are right outside of Perry, I might think those two could be them.

BTW—This Site Is Great! Thank You All!

Ron—thanks–I must be the only idiot who had to post 18 messages just to find these sections on the map. I really appreciate the help.

Jake Yes it is normal. Slow down these lease amounts are going up. Have you leased yet.

Ron—All I’ve Done is signed a lease with a title company where I received a signing bonus. That was 1 year ago on a 3 year lease. I’m probably a long way away from hearing anything from an oil company if ever. But I am learning fast here, thanks!

Jake Nothing to do but wait.

A section is 640, but they make corrections in the lots along the co. line so that part of the section could be less. Does the deed say any thing about it.

ron it says lot 5 6 and 7 s2 of se4 and the east 1/2 of the south 1/2 of the sw quarter of sect 34 t20n range 1 w, indian meridan meridan about 156 acres, my part of our undivided 1/9th is about 5 acres

Jake,

This forum is to answer and help each other, so please don’t feel you can’t ask question. We all started somewhere.

I will not sign a lease unless I know whom the oil company is. Some land men purchases leases cheap hoping to flip (sell to other companies for a profit). One reason oil companies don’t want anyone knowing who is purchasing the lease, because a good landmand will pick up a few acres hoping to make a kill on it. Lets say Red Fork has purchases 30,000 acres except for may be 400 aces, then someone will try to lease the 400 acres hoping to sell to Red Fork for a big profit. It happens all the time.

Regarding lots, most of the farm that are on a county line will have lots and this can make the farm any acres. Most of the time it will be around 150 to 157, but I have seem area where it less than 100 acres.

Virginia,

So you think I should have held out signing until the landman told me who the oil company is? I guess I can’t do anything about this now. I don’t see how I can lose my mineral rights unless I actually sell them though.

So, as I understand your comment, this landman of mine, knowing the oil company might eventually want to obtain a large number of acreage, (larger than just what was contained in my two lots), grabbed me first so that he might then do what?

I would still need to agree to a sale. If I don’t sell, the oil company eventually gives notice on intent to explore/drill, and then they pay royalties to me right?

The only involvement my landman has now, is that he can prove (because of his title search), that I own the mineral rights. The oil company now has all the legal documentation they need to legally proceed with their drilling operation.

The only thing, (kinda crazy), that I can think of is that the landman, knowing who the oil company is, but not telling me, could hope to do is to then let some lease buyer contact me before the oil company. That buyer, after convincing me to sell, then kicks profit back to the landman?

I guess in this world full of scammers, that’s just normal theft and we shouldn’t be too surprised because everyone including our dear leader is a liar? I can live with that. Nothing to see here, it’s just normal scamming!------move along!

Jake Devon is getting ready to drill Section 21 & 28 -21n-01e. here is a map if you don’t have one, it’s slow to come up. ftp://ftp-fc.sc.egov.usda.gov/OK/tech/gis/Web/County_Base_Maps/4103… . Don;t sale. Leases and sale prices are going to go up.
