Logan County, OK - Oil & Gas Discussion archives

My mistake. Ron is right. The spacing is 640, not 360. Sorry for the bad information.

Does anyone know if there’s any company interested in leasing mineral rights in Logan County 33, 17N, 2W?

D Pharr, there are several companies leasing in 17N-2W. I don’t know why they have not gotten with you. How many acres do you have? I’ll get you a list if you can wait until in the morning.

The last spacing I found for 20-17N-3W showed 640-acre spacing.

D Pharr, I know a Brian Stamps is looking for leases around there 405-274-9089. Also the following have leased in 17N-2W in the last few months: Midcon Resources, Edmond; Sendero Land Co., Edmond; Todco Properties, Norman; Jackfork Land Inc., OKC; Tetra Energy, Ft. Smith, Arkansas.

Over the past several months I have received multiple offers from various land companies offering to buy my share in Sec 5-18N-3W. The offers opened at $800/Acre and have increased to $2000/Acre. I also received many offers for my interests in Sec 32-19N-3W, also in Logan. Any hot new discoveries going on in those areas that anyone knows of?

Thanks–Amy

I thought that spacing was 360 for oil and 620 for natural gas? Oh well, I had used my own logic to figure out the calculations for end of month figures, and my best guesstimation based on a “good” (20,000 daily well) was almost exactly what it was using the EOM / 2/8 and 360 x 1.68 (net acres) / 540 and it came out almost precisely what I had guessed, times 30 to take it to the EOM figure. I am reminded of an old Army song, YOU AIN’T GONNA GET RICH DIGGING A DITCH… but this ain’t bad if it is correct. Last word I have on this is in HS I nearly flunked algebra. LOL But in the COOL HEAD FOR LOGIC CLASS I got an A Plus. (I was using the 360 figure for oil. 640 would change it I just haven’t figured how much.)

Ronald Von Wilson,

Where is that well making 20,000 of what? Is this per day or year? Most of the horizontal wells are 640 Acres for oil and gas, with a few exceptions.

Back when it was V-wells, it could be anywhere from 20 Acres to 80 Acres on oil, but I never knew anyone in the north part of Logan County that had a 640 Acre spacing on gas. In the western part of Oklahoma they had lots of 640 Acre gas spacing, but that is changing with some of the good wells that are coming in out in Woods County. Wish I had a few more of them.

I have seen some nice checks but what people don’t understand is it may not last long. So, it’s best to keep your other job.

Ron,

You stated that Devon was pooling in 19N-2W, do you have a section on that? I know Crown and Continental have done some drilling in that area. Also, is that OCC bonus orders? I have a couple leases that just ran out that are just across the line in Noble County and I was offered a little more than that.

Ron, I was wondering if you had a chance to see if there was info on production tests for wells and bonus paid in pooling in 19N-2W & 19N-1W?

Todd, what Section are you in? There are a lot of poolings pending by Devon in 19N-2W. Also paperwork being filed for more. Also found one pooling order where Devon was ordered to pay $525 for 1/8th or $500 for 3/16th. I’ll keep looking but I would like to start close to your Sections. Looks like they are just getting started if you’re not leased don’t rush into it.

Ron,

I know that Devon is doing lots of drilling/pooling in East Garfield and West Noble County. But, I didn’t know they were doing much in Logan. Guess I missed that. They had teamed up with Limestone on some of the H wells. Don’t know if Devon had some of the leases that Limestone wanted or what.

My land was spaced but not drilled, the company forgot to send the check for the extension, so I asked for a release, they called and wanted the extension, but things have went up and if they don’t want to drill, I don’t see wasting my time.

Virginia I have seen quite a bit of activity in the area of my farm that is about a mile west of I-35 and 2 miles south of 51. Seems to mostly be Devon Energy. They just finished a multi-unit well not long ago that was drilled by Cactus Drilling (they are the rigs I see doing a majority of the drilling in my area) with one of those very large rigs that actually would pick itself up and walk itself over and begin drilling again. That particular pad is very large. I drive by that well often after leaving my farm heading to the Cowboy Stop at I-35 and 51. I counted 17 Halliburton tractor trailers that looked to have pumps on their trailers, maybe to pump water from ponds to the well? I have seen a lot of lines in ditches and crossing the road through tinhorns running for miles sometimes to wells. That particular well is 1 mile east of I-35 and 1 mile south of 51, not far from the Cowboy Travel Plaza just east of I-35 if you’re kinda familiar with the area. Also in that area there is a small RV park just north of Mulhall that is completely leased up with portable trailers for the hands to stay in while off duty. Some trailers are even in the town of Mulhall next to some business hooked up to their electric and sewer I would think. I have cattle on land as far west as Marshall, Oklahoma, which is Hwy 51 and Hwy 74. There is a lot of Devon and Cactus doing the drilling and some Kilpatrick rigs. This is going on north and south of Hwy 51 for miles. I can hardly go anywhere without seeing Halliburton trucks or some kind of oilfield equipment going down the road. I see this for miles north and south of 51 in my area. Never seen anything like it, very busy area these days. Oh, this is also going on north and south of 51 east of I-35 as well in Payne. Just some stuff I observe when up there. I live just north of Edmond, Oklahoma but I’m up there 3-4 days a week.

Yes, sorry, should have put what section I’m in: Sec. 25-T19N-2W.

Most of the poolings in 19N2W were pending so they are newer. I think there may be a chance for better bonus. I have to go help the wife but I’ll do some more looking. I got a new program that makes it a lot faster but I have to get the hang of it.

Amy,

Are you planning on selling your minerals or just lease them? People have received as much lease bonus as $800 A for small acreages in the area.

Virginia, there are a lot of poolings coming up and that may change things and I think Devon was doing a lot of pooling in West Noble as I recall before these in Logan. I’ll get you some more info.

Ok thanks Ron

The 17 Halliburton tractor trailer rigs I counted were parked on that multi-unit well pad among several trailers and other oilfield equipment so that kinda gives you an idea of the size of that pad. Also in that particular area next to that particular well I guess oil companies have actually leased pasture land to keep equipment on with security guards at the pasture gate as well as a helicopter! I see it flying over me at my farm with equipment dangling underneath it and sometimes it looked like it was carrying water maybe due to this ongoing drought delivering this stuff to well sites. Maybe I know my ponds are dried up or getting very close to being dry.

Todd, I like to see people presenting themselves. I wish I could have got my family interested earlier.

Thank u Mr Kennedy
