Garvin County, OK - Oil & Gas Discussion archives

Linda, it was OK [I’m learning on this Forum not to just accept it, tho!], but we only had it in writing for a few days when they withdrew it! They said because Newfield is there [sec 08-2N-3W]. We were told at the outset that Apache was going for depth & their lease offer cited all depths-think they needed to be more specific, that they want to go under Newfield. That’s just my novice guess, tho! LOL

I wouldn’t think a Big Ole Company like Apache would let Newfield scare them off! lol There’s been several mixed marriages between oil companies on many of those wells down there.

Vicki,

They have been drilling about 3 days now.

Cactus C130 should be the rig on the site.

Rick, nice to see your face-been wondering where you were, haven’t heard much from you lately. Thank you for the info. I don’t know if you could see that rig from the highway or not, but nice to know it’s a work in progress. Your input in always appreciated. I have minerals in 17 (I know they won’t perf there) but also in 20 & 29. Maybe about 10-12 months before some revenue, don’t you think?

Anyway, let me know as I am currently not working and easy to get an appointment with for the time being. Lol. Would love to meet you there and visit

Linda, I was talking to you, just wondering why you asked about Apache. I assumed you were meaning Apache in Garvin-sorry for the confusion!

Linda, my lips are sealed!

Charles, sorry, I mis-spoke! I said Newfield when I meant Triad. I’m having issues with both & just got the sections mixed up. The same thing happened to us, Apache offered & then withdrew. I’m trying to find out what’s going on there. How could they have not known Triad was already there? I’m wondering if it’s just a matter of which depth they want to drill?

“especally”, especially, pataato, potato!!! lol

Thanks Pam…now if we can only get the other 999 people to zippet! lol

OOPS Accidently called you Rich, Rick. So you may have to be Rich Rick from now on. I could think of worse things to be called!!! lol

Hi Rick

Thank you for the information. If it is “completed” or near completed, what does that mean?

Pamela…Someone had ask about whether they had gotten a fair offer for leasing (I believe that’s what got me started) and I just recommended several majors she might shop around with in order to make sure she got the best deal. I told her of the ones I knew of and that a friend had gotten his best deal from Apache around Alex. She then was wanting phone numbers and names and I had the ones for CR and Newfield but not Apache so I ask if someone on here had that number. Anyway sorry for the confusion as Newfield and Continental are the only two we’ve dealt with in the last several years. The only royalty we have in Garvin is in Sec. 20, 4n,3w out around Hughes and we are not dealing with it right now as we want P’s mom to get all the monies from it as long as she lives even tho she gave it to her kids a few years ago. Our only other minerals are in Stephen’s Co. We bought those from hubby’s cousin about 43 yrs. ago for $150 for all approx 17 acres. Turns out it might be a really good deal especally since we’ve been offered $12,000 an acre for some of it ! lol We haven’t told his California cousin that sold it to us about all the drilling they are doing as we don’t want to “rub salt in the wounds” so lets just keep it between you and I and the few thousand that probably read these post, okay? lol

Are there any instances, other than oil co. paying late, when royalty owners are due interest on money due them and not having received it due to bad paper work etc.?

Received an offer in the mail today from Master Mineral Holdings out of Dallas to purchase my interest in sec 29 2N 3W for $7000 per ac. Guess they’re not interested in sec 20 for some reason…

Hello everyone. Has Continental began paying out royalties yet? It’s already been nearly a year since I signed on with them, but I haven’t heard anything since! What gives with continental?

Greg, takes at least 6mo after well is completed.

Thanks Hutch, And does one have to write the company in order to receive the 6%?

We’ve know a few good people that had to wait past the six months for CR haven’t we, Hutch? lol ~ Not Funny!

Well, I appreciate the responses. The well I’m talking about is the Lang up around Section 20 in Garvin. I finally received my 1 & only phone call (that I’ll probably ever get) from Continental. It was a woman named Shelley, I believe. She stated that title opinions are done and now they’re doing what’s called, “setting up the well.” I guess this has to do with paying out revenues and determining decimal interest for royalties. Again, I’m brand new at this so, if my info sounds ridiculous, I apologize. Don’t quote my stats from C.R.
