lol Clif…you may have me mixed up with someone else that was a hard worker! Never did any roughnecking even when we were courting and sparkin in the front seat of that old 55 chevy~ even though I’ve watched quite a bit of it (talking about on a drilling rig not in the front seat of a chevy) ! lol And when we owned the oilfield supply store I sat at a desk and did paper work except for an occasional delivery when the guys were busy but no lifting for me. It’s hard to believe but I’ve never even had to mow the lawn in the 46 years we’ve been married (hubby and the two boys took care of that but I did love to work in the flower beds back until my knees got bad). Got those replaced but lifting an iron skillet is about the heaviest lifting I’d done and now I’m trying to retire from that! lol Thanks for all for your good wishes and prayers! Just ready to get it over with. I may take baking back up if I get my back back (gave spell check fits with that one:)) in shape! I know I’ll want to get back to reporting on the progress of the new wells. I love that!!!
I saw on the OCC website that they have spud reports on the Mashburn 2H-33X, 4H-33X, and the 3-4S. Someone had explained the 3-4S a couple of weeks and ago and I don’t remember what the 3-4S meant.
Continental has filed applications for Spacing and Pooling of 23-1N/2W.
What would be a potential downside when signing a lease with a company that isn’t the drilling company?
John, I have never signed a lease with the company that was drilling the well. Some on the forum may have and that may be what happens when you are force pooled, idk as I have never waited for forced pooling. I have learned from others on the forum, that is the best way to do it, but I personally never have. Most companies that drill have another company do all the foot work and round up the troops to lease.
Vicki, I am being pooled in 23-1N/2W . I thought it was too soon to lease. Boy was I wrong.
Here is what I thought back in June. "Sometimes they do want to drill a straight pilot hole to see where they will plan to kick off for the landing of the horizontal holes. That being said, sometimes, they permit the “strat test” and then come back and amend it to being horizontal.
Given that section 4 has a lot of wells coming, a set to the north-Mashburn and a set to the south - Wright, they may need this straight hole as the guiding point for all of the rest of them.
Or this well may never get drilled. Or this well may be a test for vertical Woodford production versus horizontal production. Will be interesting to keep an eye on it and see what develops."
Looks like this well is a straight stratigraphic test-hence the “S”. It spud as of 8/24. The API is 35137272260000. However, I am thinking it may turn into a horizontal well. Not sure yet……
I think they are bottom feeders.
Hutch, I was reading the OCC docket hearings for this week yesterday and saw that. Good for you!! Glad we figured out how many nma I have. Hopefully we’ll both see some action in 1/2 sometime soon.
Martha,
Do you think the Hoxbar (Medrano/Marchand) are viable zones here as they are in Grady?
To buy? That’s about what people are getting to lease.
Received an offer today from Ferrell Oil to buy sec 6 1N2W. Sure not offering much @ $2750 per acre, but it always makes me think someone is working on a game plan. Hope so. That’s the first offer I’ve ever received in 1N2W. It’s HBP and the wells are getting kinda old but still produce very well in my opinion. They are all vertical wells. Would love to see some horizontal stuff happen.
Laura, that was my point. Low ball offer, but usually when offers come to buy drilling has either just completed or is in the planning stage.
Michael Joslyn, You might address your question pertaining to the Mashburn 3-4S well spud, with service hole location in Sec. 4 2N-4W, to M. Barnes. She being most knowledgeable on matters such as this.
It appears CR has finished with delineation of this play near the southern border of Garvin Co. They moved H&P 375 back to the east. I am pretty sure they are drilling the Keele well in 22-21 1n 1w.
Thanks for the explanation, Ms. Barnes, on the 4-3s
Laura, the “Hoxbar” is a target in Garvin. There have been over 200 wells completed in it since 1950. It is pretty shallow and is a more conventional play(so far). When I search using Medrano and Marchand, nothing shows up, so the generic Hoxbar seems to be used instead.
Richard and Martha, Thank you both for your help.
The Hoxbar is used to hold a lease if no depth clause.
Family has a small interest in sec 25 Township 1 North Range 2 West. Continental, represented by RedSky, offered 25% royalty, no bonus or $800 acre 1/8 royalty or $600 acre 3/16 royalty, or option to participate.
Need an idea of what course to take. Also, any recommendations on someone to check title on said acreage? Am very curious as to how my granddad acquired these minerals.
