Chris,

The Newfield overlay came up for me though it was like a picture in a picture type thing. I saw no overlay on the CLR maps.

Thanks for the effort.

Looks like my link for the 2nd map didn’t work, here is another try:

Continental Map 1 Mar 2014

For these to work I think you need the Google Earth application, not just Google Maps.

Lynden, I encountered the same problem if you just click on this and let the browser open it in google maps. I’m not savvy enough to figure out how to fix that. If you download the files and then open them in the google earth application, which is separately installed, I think they work as expected. They will show up under the ā€œTemporary Placesā€ and you may have to check the box to make them visible.

M. Barnes–or anyone else–what is the status of the Covel (Newfield) that runs through 21-33? Is it producing? I haven’t heard anything from Newfield re: division orders, but I own mineral interests in 33. Any latest word on this well?

Julie,

It does not appear they have even started drilling yet. I’d say you division order are a long ways out.

You can search here for status. http://imaging.occeweb.com/imaging/OGWellRecords.aspx

Search for API 04924983. There is a permit and a modification to the permit currently there. (form 1000) You will see a 1001A show up within 15 days of start of drilling.

As always, you’re a life saver, Rick! Just went to the OCC search page, and I see what you mean…this well has been permitted and amended. I guess the well is named for Donnie Covel on the permit.

So the permit to drill is in place, but I guess I’ll probably know they’ve actually started drilling when I hear it on this forum. I get division orders only when the well begins to produce, right? On the average, that’s about 4-6 months after production starts, right?

The Amend Permit To Drill looks like it is good news for 33 Covel,

They changed the end point from 40 feet to 591 feet from the property line of 33 so that they can drill another well East and West ?

Thanks so much, David, for any and all interpretation. Wow, that would be great if they did drill another well in addition to the Covel!!

Julie, someone mentioned a few days ago that there was a pad on 21 for the Covel but no rig yet. I am also in 33 but not 28 so I was glad to see the order said those 2 sections would split 50/50 instead of the 33/67 as was originally the plan. I figure we’re about a year from first check on that well @ very best. That’s if they can get a rig drilling fairly soon. Or what is it they say?-ā€œturning to the right.ā€

Vicki, where do see this 50/50 split? Is it in the amended drilling order? I can’t seem to locate it!

Julie, I saw it on page 3, item 2.6

Thanks, Vicki, but is this the document you’re looking at? If so, I still can’t find it:

http://imaging.occeweb.com/OG/Well%20Records/1DD1BB44.pdf

Here was the order for the Multisection application.

http://imaging.occeweb.com/AP/Orders/occ5067902.pdf

The orginal permit matched the order with 67/33 http://imaging.occeweb.com/OG/Well%20Records/1DD19D07.pdf

The amended one show 50/50 with an increase in lateral length.

http://imaging.occeweb.com/OG/Well%20Records/1DD1BB44.pdf

But the order does not reflect the changes. But it is an interim order and the final will be based on the as drilled survey.

Thanks, Vicki and Rick, now I see the 50/50 split, and it was staring me in the face. I guess it took Rick to make me see straight! Thanks also, Rick, for pointing out that this fantastic change is only pending. Still very good news…guess we’ll see down the road.

I posted this on the Stephens County group, but thought I’d see if anyone here knows of a landman who represents Chesapeake. I’m trying to see who has the most presence around my Stephens 1N/4W Section 12, and Chesapeake seems to. Thanks all!

See my reply in the Stephens forum. Based only on number of leases file Continental appears to have the majority of it.

Seems to me that Newfield has had the most drilling in our little corner in 2n4w in Stephens and 3n4w in Garvin. However Continental is also doing a lot in our area!!! AND with all those Poteet wells getting started CR may be catching up shortly. EXCEPT that Newfield is drilling multiple Yandells, another 5 Boles, 4 more McElroys. Have drilled 6 Branches and I think 5 Casados wells, drilling multiple Tina wells, Wright wells and I believe several Gregory wells, etc. so CR will have to speed up because Newfield is not slowing down.

Not very good numbers for the Studdard!

Thanks, Linda and Rick. Yes, Newfield and Continental seem to be pretty big players. Maybe Marathon, too, as Rick said.

Karla, what are the #'s. I haven’t heard anything
