Garvin County, OK - Oil & Gas Discussion archives

It’s a lot so sections but small interests - total is almost 30 acres in all those sections. If there is a lot of drilling we will get our little bits. And yes Monday I’ll be making calls starting with Coffeyville. Has anyone dealt with them before. The back of the division order looks like another lease. Even asks that I “satisfactory evidence of title with no cost to them”. Odd division order for me. Thanks again to everybody sharing the info.

Thanks much. I’ll look up the NADOA form.

I will have to check through the records. We do receive from Enerwest but I am not sure about Garvin county. I did find a lease from 1954 so maybe it is hbp. If it is then I’m stuck with 1/8th. I was told my grandfather Henry Garrett never did anything but 3/16ths so I’m surprised. But that was a long time ago. Thanks very much. Gives me a direction to look in.

Don’t know if this has been mentioned but Google Earth has new images. November 2013.

Rick,

Did a little more digging. The Akers 1 and 2 wells show spud dates of 10/12/1952 and 10/14/1955 as oil wells by Magnolia Petroleum. Later they were changed to gas wells and in the last few years have been producing more oil. I show Mark Holloway as the producer but maybe it has changed hands or just changed buyers. That could explain the new division order. All those old units prior to 1960 have 1/8 leases in that area. Not sure I have ever seen a 3/16. Last year I did find a couple that also reserved a 1/8 ORRI on top of their 1/8 royalty…so read the whole lease.

Thanks much. I’m going to go way back in the time machine and find the lease. Since the lease was from 1954 this could be what’s going on. They have probably just bought old producers. Thanks everybody for pitching in.

Covel 1H-28X starts in 21 and goes through 28 and 33 2N-3W

Rick, I can do some checking when I get back in town. Don’t use their DO form. Use the NADOA form instead. Talk to you Monday.

Rick, I believe the Akers wells are based on an old lease from the 40’s that is hbp with a producing well located in the old west Katie third deese sand unit. I would check with the courthouse for a lease sometime after 1944 by someone with the last name Akers (or any lease in the time period) and see what all legal descriptions are on it. The unit was formed in the 50’s but a lot of those leases were 10 year leases. Then check to see if there is any production from any of those legal descriptions. I am familiar with the area and afraid you are probably stuck with a 1/8 lease. Do you receive checks from Enerwest from any wells in Sections 27 or 35? The unit was shut down but there are still producing wells that hold acreage outside the unit. The name Akers just really rings a bell with me so I know I have seen something.

I see there is a well pad built on section 21 t2n r3w, does any one have any information on that well pad ?

Thank you for the information on Google update and the Covel well.

Vicki,

It is in production but no numbers yet

Does anyone know if there are any numbers available yet on the Studdard well in 17 2N 3W?

Great!!!

Thanks Rick. BTW, Google Chrome allowed me to view my bank account online for the first time since I bought this computer. I really appreciate that!

Vicki…Did you use Rick’s instructions? They were WAY over my head but sometimes even Donald Duck talks over my head! lol

I have tried to post a profile picture but it won’t let me. I have even compressed my picture for a web page. Can anyone advise me as to how to do that?

Anyone have any good insights on 22 & 23 1N-1W? CLR is pooling both. They had emergency orders pending for a multi-unit there and I understand the have already built the pad. But the emergency order requests were withdrawn and new ones put in for 23 & 26 (but no pooling for 26 yet).

It all seems like good activity, just a new scenario for me where they are doing emergency orders prior to pooling and then it all changes.

Chris, most of the horizontal wells are going N-S so the 23&26 makes more sense. It is closer to the condensate area of the Woodford. I thought the first orders were a little odd but may have had something to do with the faults right there. Maybe they will come back with a second set for 22& 27, but think that one is more risky. Emergency orders usually have something to do with the having a rig on contract and they will lose money if they don’t drill immediately. Pushes things through faster!

I keep finding myself looking at the Continental and Newfield maps of the SCOOP from their presentations and trying to match them up to sections and our interests. To make my life easier I created some overlays for Google Earth so that I can do this all in one place. Sharing here in hopes others find it helpful. As always, suggestions welcome.

The overlays are:

To see section/township/range I install “PLSGE” from here: http://www.metzgerwillard.us/plss/plss.html

I included the entire map but it doesn’t line up as well as you get away from Garvin County.
