Rick, My response to your offer got covered up but I would still like for you to recommend a lawyer in Duncan to prepare a will who has oil and gas savvy if and when you have time.
Hi Everyone,
New to this group, new to oil and mineral rightsā¦
Look forward to learning as much as I can from everyone here, thank you so much for setting up and participating in this forum I know there are a lot of people like me who really appreciate all the hard work that went in to this whole thing,
We inherited mineral rights in Garvin Co. a few years ago, but never really knew much about them, but we are trying really hard to learnā¦
Thanks again everyone I look forward to hearing from you guys and sharing stories and useful informationā¦
Welcome John,
There is a link at the top that might help you. Since Garvin Co āwrapsā the heavy activity in Stephens County, that group may help you as well.
What township are your rights in?
Hutch, Any news on the Studdard? Hope my 17 is as lucky as yours!
Hello all, thanks so much for the info. My sister And I have mineral rights on a few acres in sections 17 and 20, 3n 4w. Any news? I really appreciated the fracking map in the Stephens county discussion which showed the cigar-shaped drilling patterns, making it somewhat easier to conjecture about future wells. I havenāt been able so far to find a similar map for all of Garvin. I live far away so I am having to guess as to how things look, and I really appreciate the descriptions, I can almost smell the sulphur!
Thanks Rick & M Barnes for your help. I did notify the attorney on the case when we first started getting letters but found that they didnāt change a thing. Is there some sort of form I send to the county clerk?
Thanks, Ron. Maybe when I can access the site (down for the weekend?) I can look at those links. Appreciate the info.
We have been receiving some mail at the correct address concerning our mineral rights in Garvin county; however on the application to the corporation commission under the list of mineral owners, they have the wrong address. Can anyone tell me how to get this straighted out?
Pamela, One of the quickest ways is to send a letter to the County Clerk of Garvin giving your correct address. The other is to quickly call and send a letter to the particular company(s) that is(are) petitioning the court for your acreage and set them straight immediately so you donāt miss anything.
I would send a letter to the attorney listed on the case with a copy to the OCC. List the case numbers and your correct address. They will make it part of the record.
Linda, I have an Audi Quattro car, if I drive to Garvin do you think the roads are good enough to get to the Studdard ?
Pamela, there is no particular form, but you should give the exact description of your acreage, your correct address, put the case number on it (if currently being heard). Send a copy to the county clerk, the OCC (make sure you send it to the correct office, OKC or Tulsa, that is hearing the case, the attorney that is handling the case and also to the Company that is being designated the operator. That should cover all the bases. Do not list your EIN, SSN or Drivers license number since the record will be public. You will send those later privately to the company that pays the bonus and to the company or companies that will buy the products. If you have recently inherited it, then you might want to give the name of the person you inherited it from. I have had issues with the attorneyās office getting addresses fixed in a timely fashion, but by letting the OCC know, it gets filed with the case number as a document which speeds it up.
Thank you Linda for the info at the Studdard.
Davidā¦Not real sure what kind of car a Quattro is and if it set low to the ground but I donāt think you will have much if any problems because itās not all that far off of highway 29. If you donāt know you will turn north off of the highway where the sign is for the Church of Christ (you will be able to see the tiny little white church building). As you get even with the church (on your right) the location is to the left but you may have to follow the dirt road right around the hill to get to the well. I donāt remember having any road problems except it was dirty. Iād think the flow testers trailers will still be there since they are still flowing back the frac waters according to a friend.
Check my last Stephens post for the little bit I heard on the Studdard.
I have 1.67 acres in 27-2N-3W that is HBP. noticed Newfield is or is planning to drill in 26,28, and 29. Rick said awhile back that if you are HBP you donāt hear anything til one day you get a DO. Has anyone heard of any activity in 27. Thanks
Our 2 wells are in the Foster-Tusssey Unit. they average about 6 bbls/mo.
Debby,
I donāt see anything new in 27-2N-3W.
You may hear something if they have to make changes in spacing. If so you could be a respondent on a spacing order.
You can search for applications here but it is not an easy process.

It is easier to follow permit issued here
http://imaging.occeweb.com/imaging/OGWellRecords.aspx
You can search on 2702N03W for legal and limit is to a year or so.
http://imaging.occeweb.com/imaging/OGWellRecords.aspx
But you have to look and makes sure the production will be from that section. It will miss permits issued for 27 that will be drilled from another section, so you can enter using a wildcard. %02N03W will show all in the township and you can then look at the ones that surround your section.
Thanks Rick. Just curious why I havenāt seen any comments or activity in that section with so much going on around it. Thought there might be a fault or some legal battles. Newfield did do a seismic study about 17mo. ago.
