I inherited surface mineral rights in the Wilmington Oil Field held by Warren E&P/Warren Resources and I was receiving dividend checks. I hadn’t received a check in maybe a year and discovered Warren E&P website is gone and phone numbers are disconnected. I would think I should receive some notice as a mineral rights owner if they shut down? Any information would be helpful.

I am still receiving royalties albeit half of what I was. They come in via direct deposit on the first of the month.

Lindsay: The California Department of Conservation, Geologic Energy Management Division (“CalGEM”) has a website known as WellSTAR. Warren E&P shows that it is active and still has wells in its inventory. I note that their old website says that there is a new domain name, although I haven’t found it. Perhaps they are simply updating.
On the royalties, the price of oil has remained relatively stable. Many owners in the LA basin actually are not receiving royalties but are co-owners and thus are liable for their share of costs from the gross profit but are then entitled to their share of net profits. This may be the reason for not receiving payment for a long period. They should provide you with statements, however.
I suggest contacting them via phone. They should have a customer service or something similarly named (Owner relations, etc.) that can help.

Thank you for responding. The website has been down for weeks and the phones numbers are ‘busy’ except one phone number. It had a recording recommending to email owner relations. The email bounced back. The Warren E&P landman contact I had, Jessica Bradley, is no where to be found. It’s very strange

Hi, I would receive quarterly royalty checks in the mail. Did you receive any notice that their accounting was changing or anything? Their website is gone and no one is answering phones!
I only received a form to sign up for direct deposit. No notification of any closure.
