Vickery Energy is in West Virginia ( Marion & Wetzel County area) wanting to lease Oil and Gas Rights. Just looking for insight if they are a company to sign with.
Vickery Energy has recorded exactly ZERO leases or deeds in both Marion and Wetzel Counties. Are they leasing as themselves as the grantee or on behalf of someone else?
They’re relatively new to the area. They’re not paying well for the bonus, but they are also leasing in areas where there isn’t competition. The thing that I’m not happy with is that they’re only paying a 15% royalty. Most of the leases that have gone through my office have been at 18%. There have been exceptions, and lately all the companies have been trying to get down to 16% or 17%, but we still get quite a few at 18%.
They also aren’t giving much in the way of other changes to leases, so I’m hesitant to recommend their lease to people. That could change. I hope it does. They seem to be working hard and trying to pick up a lot of acreage, so being able to put together a good lease with them would make me happy.
@Marion1 Vickery Energy is formed by the older Tug Hill team who sold to EQT. “Quantum Capital Group is backing the executives behind Tug Hill Operating, which sold to EQT Corp. for $5.2 billion, in a new Appalachian Basin company Vickery Energy Partners.”
