Stephens County, OK - Oil & Gas Discussion archives

Has anyone leased in Section 8 or 17, Township 2N Range 5W? They said Newfield plans to force pool soon. Just wondering what the going rate is.

$2000 3/16 $1600 1/5 $0 1/4 was the pooling in 7-2N-5W

N S Burton - We have not received a division order on the Oceana Section 8-17, Township 1N Range 5W yet. I figure it may be toward the end of July.

Thanks M. Barnes !

Thanks M Barnes for writing about the Oklahoma Tax Commission to check for well production! I found the well and the PUN for the operator. The well status is listed as “Active” but there is no production data at all. Are there other places to check? This is for oil, but I don’t understand how a well can have no production data when it is supposed to be active.

Teresa, the OTC takes about 4 months to start posting. We have a well completed in late February still not posting production.

Richard, on the Hatchett well, it looks to me like they ran into some problem in the first hole a week or so after starting and just spudded a new hole. Both permits have the same surface location.

Teresa, there are two of those. One is the A S Moore Estate A#1 and one is the Moore #1. Which one? Both are operated by Jones.

Bob Titley, You are correct but per the completion report they drilled neither Section 4, Township 2N-Range 4W nor Section 33, Township 3N-Range 4W.

Well, the unitization for Sections 1 and 12 in Township 2N Range 4W were approved…

Gay, 27 people/entities have leased in 8 in the last two years

46 in section 17.

Celestra 1-5-32XH spud on December 20, 2014. Should be finished by now, but you won’t see completion report for a couple of months. Depends upon if they completed the frac or if they are still waiting.

Has anyone received division orders on Oceana well, Section 8-17, Township 1N-Range 5W? First production was 12/22/14.

Anyone heard anything about the Celest - 5-32XH? Section 5, Township 2N-Range 4W Stephens and Garvin Section 32, Township 3N-Range 4W? Just curious if anyone had heard what the scoop is. Probably too early to tell but still curious.

Yes, Bob. I am just a little frustrated about this “unitization” stuff… Still don’t know how it will affect us in the long term. I have some other sections that are going to be unitized and it’s not going to be good, at least from the initial descriptions.

I am not the person to explain all of this. It’s tricky, to say the least…

I accepted.

Teresa

here is what I found productionData%20Moore%201.xlsx

M Barnes - Thank you ever so much for that link!! When I searched the production data tab was blank so maybe I didn’t click the correct button or just don’t know how to search correctly. What happens in Oklahoma when there is no production? How can royalty owners get the operator to release the old lease? In Texas, at least in the past, most leases were null and void if there was no production over a period of time. That is what I remember from being an operator many years ago.

Teresa, Write them and request a release of lease. They should tell you if another well or a sidetrack is holding the lease. If so, they should be paying you on it. Go back to your original lease and see if you have a shut in clause. If they have paid on it, then they may still hold the lease, but if they have not, then fuss.

Gay, depends upon where the FP is. Sometimes you get 1/4, sometimes only 1/5 as the best.
