Stephens County, OK - Oil & Gas Discussion archives

I have been getting small checks from Chaparral Energy. I am now getting notices regarding bankruptcy proceedings. Does anyone have any advice on if or how I should get involved in this. My checks were small, so I am sure my voice would not make any difference in the outcome. I think the last check I got from Chaparral was in January of 2016.

You have to go back to your Division Order. If the amount of your royalty is smaller than $100 (or $25 which is on mine), you will not get a check until the amount builds up to that much.

The one we go to is at Davis, Ok. but I’ve eaten food from the one in Rush Springs at a party…same great Bar B Q!!! They are closed on Sunday’s and Wednesday’s is anyone plans to make the trip. Seems a little pricey until you get your meal…very generous portions (usually plenty to take home for another meal). OOPS…there I go getting off the subject…sorry about that.

Back to mineral rights news…has anyone seen an initial report on the Mark well on Sections 27 and 34 2n4w in Stephens? We haven’t received any DO’s or any other paperwork since they started. Wondering how long it’s been since it’s completion. Thanks for any information!

Just a guess on the Mark well. Spud Oct 15, 2016. Give about two months to drill and complete, so that takes it to Dec. or Jan. Probably won’t get DO until May. OTC tax site has first production in January, so they need to pay by July. January production was 4929.55 bbls oil and 3852 mcf gas. Don’t know if that was a full month or not. Probably not.

Royalty owners generally do not need to do anything during a bankrupcty. Chaparral should be coming out of it shortly. My checks from them are coming like clockwork, so the bankruptcy fiduciary is handling the royalties just fine.

Thanks, M Barnes, for your prompt reply. I may have to follow up as I have not seen a check since January 2016.

Just went back to one of my past post on Feb. 9th. It was the first day we had gone by the Mark well and talked to a man that said it was a very good well and that they had taken 4 “tanks” of oil off every day for several days. Later someone cleared it up that the man meant 4 tank trucks of oil. At any rate I don’t believe the well could have been completed and selling oil for over 2 weeks because we were watching it pretty close. So I’m supposing the oil sold in January started well into Jan. and that the amount M Barnes saw listed was only for one or two weeks in Jan. at the most.

Guestimate on Mark would be take the January numbers and divide by 15 instead of 30 and you might get a per day rate.

I vote for 5 days but I’ll take 8. lol

My experience with companies in bankruptcy does not affect your checks or their ability to do business. They usually come out of bankruptcy and you might receive reims of paper work that will not make any difference to you or your income from a producing or to well be drilled well. It is simply a process to allow a company to get over a difficult time. Val Carter

Active date for Mark on OTC website is 1/24/2017 so production numbers may only represent 8 days production.

That’s so true soonerpe…if you see any of those reports please let me know.

Not as good as I was expecting but every drop a blessing!

Thanks Gary…I don’t have any of them but thought I’d comment for those that do…the lucky buzzards!!! lol

Linda,

Without seeing the daily reports it is very hard to determine how well the Mark is doing. Oil and gas production may be hampered as they flow back frac water. You should be able to get a better handle on its potential after the February production is posted.

Linda,

Re: Tinas - see yellow highlighted area on attached map. Click on well name to go to OCC. Blue triangles are active rigs from Baker Hughes 3-31-2017Active%202N%204W%203-14-2017%20WORKING%20SCOOP%20WELLS%20%202.pdf

Gary, would the wells I just asked about be the ones on the map you gave us that are padded on Sec. 21 drilling north across sections 9 and 16 where the one big blue arrow is? And would that be 3 miles north of the Garvin/Stephens Co line road and back west 2 miles from highway 76?

Gary, sorry I’m crossing my questions. I asked some questions on the Garvin Co. forum about some wells being drilled on sections 16 and 9 3n4w. I’m trying to find out where to locate them so I can check on them for a friend. Supposed to be 7 new wells drilled. Anyone on here know anything about them?

Thanks Rick Rademaker. Is that for the end of Feb. or for March?

Hello:

I have been approached by several landline on T3S-R4W, sec 6 for leases. Anyone know of activity or the going lease rate. I would appreciate any help.
