They did finally send a “release” of the oil and gas lease they put of record without paying us, but only after many times on the phone. I just wanted to give a heads up to others about what they did. So I have the original lease and the release of that lease in my hands. Why they would do business like that makes it harder for all other oil and gas companies to do business. I trusted them because they were great on the previous oil and gas lease. Thanks everyone.
Linda, “Mark 1H-27X” was being fracked on Dec 1st (I think is what you saw-don’t remember actual date). Any clue where they are in the process now? Last I went down was moving day. Cactus rig was being moved to another site. Drilling was completed (not well just drilling). Heard the made it 19,100 feet total. But only approx. 700 feet into section 34. I have NO clue how accurate that is. Have you heard or received any reports from NFX? I am likely to participate in well but have not been officially pooled yet. We protested and are having secondary hearing coming up soon. Trying to find out as much as I can on production BEFORE WE MAKE ELECTIONS. Anyone with any info please let me know. Thanks
Huey, I’m in 34
Not sure what your experience is but if you’re equipped to participate your cost will be very low assuming that only 700 ft of the interval is in 34 and the rest in 27. Would only be ~ 12.5% of the lateral. Sucks for owners in 34. Newfield now HBP’s the entire section for very little benefit to 34.
Allison - How much money is at stake? Depending on where your minerals are, the quality of your lease, and the money at stake I would probably lean on them to perform. If it’s as straight forward as you’ve said you have the upper hand.
Are you in 27 or 34?
I hope that Cactus rig is moving to section 16.
Mr. Gilbert, I signed two leases with Echo on 12 12 13 then again on
10 14 16. I gave them 30 days on the lease to pay bonus. I contacted them on 11 23 16 about my bonus being late. He said he will return my leases to me. I said that I hope they haven’t been filed and he said yes they have but will send me a release. I haven’t received either one.
Huey, I sent you a friend request so we can talk.
Allison,
Send them a certified return receipt letter demanding a release of lease and give them 10 days to get it to you. Quote your dates for previous requests. Also give them a call on that date telling them that you are sending a demand letter. If that does not work, ask to speak to the landman’s supervisor and then send them a second letter in 10 days and this time send a copy of the OCC. Send it by certified mail as well. Hopefully you don’t have to get an attorney involved.
We received papers a few days ago from Newfield stating our percentage in section 34 2n4w (the Mark well) would be 34%. That’s about what we were figuring it would be. So glad I didn’t see on here that they had only gone 700 ft. in 34 until after we got that letter.
Martha, Thank you for the information. I appreciate it so much. I will definitely take your advice.
Haven’t been back down to the Mark well since we saw the frack tanks there but may make a trip down tomorrow is the roads are clear of any ice. We don’t have any right now.
Just for the record, I have no idea if 34 only got 700 ft. I was only adding to what Ryan said that if that’s the case then the mineral owners in 34 are getting hosed. Them’s the breaks I suppose, but it certainly doesn’t feel good. Hopefully that isn’t the case Linda as I know you’ve been excited about 34 for a while!
If the Mark only gives the mineral owners in section 34 the 12.5% that Huey was talking about that would be a really raw deal for us as it keeps us from leasing that section again in May because of the HBP deal. I know it’s legal but seems so wrong.
If they perf the 700’ they can most likely hold the section 34 through the Springer. However, if you have a depth clause or were pooled, then maybe you have a chance on deep rights. All depends upon what was actually drilled as to depth and the clauses on your lease. Lots of “ifs”
Had a real sinking feeling as I reread the papers we received for the proposed percentage that 34 2n4n mineral rights owners will received in the Mark well. It says it was done on January 9th 2017 but that the final papers on that will be on March something. So, now going back to Ryan’s and Huey’s comment about 34 only getting 700 feet into their section. Hopefully this isn’t correct but would appreciate knowing how you found this out Ryan. Will you let me know? Thanks!
My husband went down to the well site of the Mark yesterday but really couldn’t tell by looking what was going on. He said the drilling rig was gone and a smaller rig was in there doing something. Didn’t get out to talk to anyone as it was pouring rain. Said there was a really big wellhead on the well but …??? Anyone know what they are doing now?
Yelp, thanks for the good wishes, Huey! Guess we have no choice but to take what we get at this point. Maybe if it’s good they will drill some more on 34.
If it is the case that they only go 700 ft. in section 34 with at well can they hold the whole section?
Afraid you are all right. We don’t have a depth clause and we weren’t pooled. Our lease is with Continental. Just hoping Newfield thinks the results good enough to drill some more through 34…possibly from the other end but no matter what we are blessed.
