OK Ryan…so your saying as long as the Mark is producing they have as long as they want to in order to drill any more…gotcha. Thanks!
Hutch…just talked to my son who said he also didn’t see on the OCC website where they said there was anything going on in 16 2n5w but he also said that really didn’t mean that nothing was going on because they sometimes are started on a well a while before it gets posted to the website. I guess we’ve seen that happen before haven’t we? Thanks for the info.
Bob, the whole section would be pooled but sometimes with multi-units one of the sections will end up on the short end of the lateral. Several of the Poteets are 7-8000ft laterals. If you own in the short end you only get a corresponding %
Well, I messed up about the new rig on the new mark well location. It is now bigger than I first thought as this evening it was scoped up. It is a Cactus (I believe rig #166). And the main thing was it hasn’t started drilling yet. A man we talked to said they were expected to have it spudded by midnight tonight.
JDrig: I don’t think Continental will be drilling 26-2s-4w anytime soon. They have a horizontal well planned for 34 & 35 now instead of 26 & 35 per the previous pooling order, so I think they’ve reconsidered their options in that area. It’s weird that they’re drilling an east/west lateral as there are very few in the area. Geology is odd sometimes.
Me, too, Jennifer. I found the co-owner online and he seems to own two other Landman businesses, but all are 2 years or less old. The one that contacted me isn’t listed that way. Why so many? I don’t believe it is a successful business or that they have the money, but probably intend to flip my lease fast, and that’s why they want to put off paying promptly. I’ll entertain offers from companies I can trust. It bites. I really could use a good lease to help me with the cancer treatments, and I need a wheelchair ramp so I can go. I had an estimate for a rental ramp, and it would be $1185, so I guess I’ll do without until I can walk down my front steps. Bummer.
I’m turning down the offer. The company has only been in business since August, and is registered under the category of “Beauty/Tanning”. All my warning bells are ringing. They demand a lot and don’t want to pay quickly. I offered to have my bank send the lease as soon as funds are received, and they won’t do that, even though it protects us both. I have advised my banker to watch the account, as I sent the wire transfer number and my account number. There’s nothing there to get, but will be interested to see if they try.
9-3s-4w Continental Resources pooled sec 11 Aug 2015 for $850/ac 3/16, so if this is the first offer you received, it is probably a bit low. They are the main player in the area.
26-2s-4w Continental pooled 26-2S-4W (multi section with 35). $700 3/16 Well was supposed to be spud within 365 days from August 27, 2015. Order 644589. If you own acreage there, you should have been leased already or pooled. I don’t see a permit for the well though. Continental is the main player with a few leases in the area from Echo Energy, Recon Resources, Sccop I LP and Crestwood Exploration.
I’m so glad you passed on that lease offer Barbara! My Dad leased with CLR and Newfeild back in 2011 /2012 and he was always paid when the lease was signed and held at the bank for receipt of certified check. After reading some of the forums lately it looks like scams are happening more lately.
I agreed to an offer made to me, and received the lease, which I signed and had notarized this morning. The person who wants it says I must send it to him, or a copy, and he will pay me in 30 days because he has to verify title. I have never had anyone give those terms. Does this sound legitimate, or could it be a scam? Shall I give out his name and his company name here to determine if he is legitimate?
I’m with Linda. I never agree to 30 day pay. It’s very common that people ask for it, so it’s not a scam but it’s definitely a crappy deal for you. Where are you minerals at? You can friend me if you’d rather not say publicly.
I haven’t been back down to the diggins but I think they should be about half way through with the drilling part of the Mark well on sec. 27 and 34 2n4w or as I call it the “One Third Of My Dreams Well” That’s a heck of a lot better than a “No Dreams At All Well” lol We figured it should be done with the drilling about the end of this month. So at least Uncle Sam won’t get his part this year anyway! But it also means I’ll have to keep my Christmas list short. But remembering the reason for the season is what it’s all about anyway. Wishing all our mineral rights forum family a wonderful Thanksgiving and Christmas Season!
Thanks, Linda! If it wasn’t for the good people here on this forum, a lot of us would be a whole lot worse off, and I for one want to thank all of you who interpret, explain, re-direct, and instruct us so that we get fair treatment. You are each a true blessing for novices, and deserve to receive more of them yourselves! I am so glad I found you, not because I will profit financially, and I will, but more because I feel I fell into a group of wonderful friends. I can’t thank you enough! God bless you all! I wish I could spend more time in my home state, but I brag on ya’ll all the time! Hugs!
