Just drove down through the diggings off of highway 29…wasted trip as NOTHING new was going on. Hardly any traffic and no new locations being built that I could see. I went around our section 34 2n4w and accomplished nothing except to get my car filthy. Ho Hum!!!
As I mentioned on the other forum, CLR probably already has their own seismic or they are shooting a new one with specific targets in mind. It could also be for another company who doesn’t have access to the CLR one. Thy quite often shoot a really large area in order to focus down on a smaller one with the processing. Think of it as a camera lens, except it is acoustic. They may not be interested in this section at all, but need the shooting aperture. On the whole, it is a good thing. By the time they shoot and process, we will be a year down the road.
Kathlyn…I thought the Claudine was only on 29 2n4w. Does it go across section 32?
I have received a letter from Dawson Geophysical Co. including a contract to allow them to do seismic exploration on a couple of mineral sites we have. It includes the phrase “but in no event will this agreement extend beyond the terms of this agreement”, and yet there isn’t mentioned anywhere on the document a time limit or any dates at all. Also there is no offer of any payment. Is this an offer I should consider?
Do you own the surface? The surface owner gets paid for ingress and egress of their equipment. If you are a mineral owner, sign and return as it takes at least one mineral owner to acknowledge their intent.
Karen…do you mind saying which Sec., T and R they were wanting to do seismic exploration on? Don’t say if you’d rather not. Just wondering how close it was to ours (especially 34 2n4w).
Watching CNBC this morning when to my total shock, Obama is proposing a $10.00 a barrel tax on oil to pay for upgrading our country’s infrastructure. Is he insane? Makes me hoppin mad. The proposal most likely won’t go any where, but to come up with a plan like this at a time like this, tells me how horrible this president really is. Thank goodness his time is almost up. God forbid Hillary gets in.
Hutch…we absolutely agree with an import tariff on imported oil…my husband has been saying that for years.
Nothing is happening in 34-2N-4W right now at the OCC, but pooling in the area was at $1800-2000 3/16, $1500-1800 1/5 and $250 1/4th about 18 months ago. Expect it to be slightly lower now if anyone decides to lease. Continental and Newfield have a few leases trickling in over the last few months in the 9 section area.
My wife has a small acreage of mineral rights in Sec. 34 2N 4W. The current lease will expire in mid March and there does not appear to be any drilling activity in that section. Does anyone have an idea what price mineral leases in that area may be going for?
Danny…if your wife re-leases her minerals in 34 2n4w would you mind sharing that with us? We were thinking that our lease there was up in March but I looked again and it’s not until May. When we re-leased it the last time we took $1800 an acre for a 1/5 after some negotiating but figured we might not get a chance at that much next time. Doesn’t hurt to hope.
Linda, I will certainly let you know.
Jen, I agree completely. The $10 tax is just icing on the Obama cake. Lifting sanctions on Iran will add millions of barrels to an already glutted market. Not satisfied with a decimated U.S energy industry now insult will be added to injury by adding a tax that will be passed on to consumers in the form of higher gasoline prices. There is no upside to the people depending on oil and gas for their livelihoods or the American people as a whole. It anything should be added to the price of oil it should be an import tariff on imported oil.
Mail from us in Oklahoma to our son in Florida has taken anywhere from 5 days to 10 days…no figuring why!
Hello everyone! Happy Saturday! I was wondering if anyone had received their 1099 from Chevron? Their answering machine says they were mailed on Monday the 1st. I didn’t know it takes a week to receive mail from Dallas to Phoenix??? Thank you in advance to whoever replies to this. KDawn
K Dawn – I just got my 1099 from Chevron yesterday, 2/5/2016. I am in AZ.
Thank you Linda and John, maybe mine will be here on Monday! Kim
Dear Mr. Neely,
Did you receive income or damage from pipeline crossings, shut in royalty, bonus amounts?
Best,
Buddy Cotten
Buddy, No to all 3!
