Signing question

After being assured and reassured that our receiving our lease payments/signing bonus/shares/whatever would not be affected by one person not signing (in our case, a cousin), we're now being told that all the Maxwell descendants are being held up because of this one cousin who apparently has said he's not going to do anything.

Does this mean that we were sold a bill of goods by the company? Are we without recourse? The 120 day window that was put into our contracts is fast approaching. My sister and I are just a bit confused. We're waiting to hear from the original contacts, but still....

Maybe the company is hoping that the Forced Pooling bill would pass. As I understand it, maybe if the bill passed the company could force your cousin into being pooled.

Ah! Well, thanks for the information!

Sounds like another tactic to get family members at each others emotions. Did not or does the cousin ever want to lease? This is an example where heirs need to stay together and lease as a family. The oil and gas know there are some who don't want to sign. That does not mean they won't keep trying. I hope you did not sign a standard company lease or you will be more than confused in the distant future.
