Shenandoah Energy Partners

I received a lease from Sheandoah Energy Partners , Lincoln district Tyler county, WV. I have never heard of this company. Does anyone have experience with them?

They are legitimate. Antero Resources is very active in that district. You should contact them and compare. Those two companies often form a type of working relationship when the time to drill comes, so a lease with either would be ok in that respect. One or another might have better terms.

Thanks Nancy will take your suggestion.

You can get a very good lease with Shenandoah as far as changes to the language. You won’t get top dollar or top royalty percentage, though. If I owned oil and gas rights I’d still be happy to deal with Shenandoah. The money isn’t the only consideration when signing a lease.

Tracy- Shenandoah Energy Partners or they go by SEP Exploration is not a drilling operator like Antero Resources or EQT. They take leases and pay out bonus and retain the lease until Development is ready for that area. They will do an assignment/farmout of the lease(s) to the drilling operator (Antero). You may want to contact Antero first before you sign any lease with SEP.

Thank you Kyle for the advice. Things are in discussion and moving along well and I do agree with you the up front money is not the most important thing of a lease.

Thanks for your reply. All help is appreciated.

Whether you lease to SEP or Antero, it does not matter down the road. SEP will be a non-operating partner with whoever operates the well. All the same to the mineral owner because everything is governed by the lease. You might also consider Foss Resources. They are similar to SEP and will be competitive with the other groups.
