Reeves County, TX - Oil & Gas Discussion archives

Buzz thanks guess when I leased to Keystone they indicated they would be drilling in 3 or 4 months year 2012 and when I looked up on drill map found the 31536 permit and made an assumption, guess I was wrong again

Thanks for info.

Hello MA Smith. I asked the same thing of Eagle Oil and Gas. They told me that they don’t hold all of the leases that are needed to drill. That was why I wanted to be as informed as possible about who our neighbors are leasing to. If we can be sure we are leasing to the same company, then perhaps we can start receiving some royalty checks! I am open to leasing to the company that will be most beneficial to me and my neighbors!

Keystone has a permitt to drill 31536 on a-1411 section 20 c-17 question does the permitt expire if they do not obtain another lease?

Buzz the red square where the 6621 is has been permitted to J Cole Thompson for two horizontal wells.

Billy – I saw those permits but they are a little old. Thanks – Later – Buzz

You mentioned your wife leasing to KEW. In case you aren’t aware KEW took those leases on behalf of PetroHawk which later became BHP Billiton so those KEW leases now belong to BHP. Several earlier posts in this chain discuss BHP exercising options to extend on some of their leases and tells how to contact them.

I’m getting offers to lease my minerals on some property in Reeves County.

I own interest in 2 adjoining sections. Block C-17, Section 13 and Section 14. This is located about 5.5 miles north of Toyah. Section 14 has a producing gas well. An oil company made an offer to me and the other owners to lease Section 13 and has said the my property is not ā€œheld by productionā€ because of the well on Section 14. The old lease was signed by father in 2004 and combined the acerage for both Sections13 and 14. There are also offers from other landmen to lease section 14 that has the producing well on it. There is no mention of a Top Lease. Where can I get some information that can help me on this matter?

Tracy,

I’d like to know who the Oil Company is as we have acreage in C-17 that was just released by BHP. I’d like to contact the company and see if they are interested in ours.

You should contact Total Field Services, they do the leasing for Cimerax. KLS Properties has also made offers.

Tracy – now that you mentioned it… currently Cimarex has 5 wells (4 horizontal; 1 vertical) ā€˜drilling ahead’ in Reeves… spud 4 wells in the last 18 days! 2 wells on the same section (PSL BLK 57 SEC 26), 20.8 miles NW of Pecos; 3 wells (grouped within 2 miles of one another) 9-10 miles NNW, W & SSW (mostly west) of Mentone. Thanks again, Buzz, for the information.

Does anybody know how well the Reeves County Wolfcamp wells seem to be holding up?

Oops yesterday lost a day there somewhere.

Me too, Tracy. We have some acreage about four miles to the south east in 54/4 so yeah, we are real interested. There’s clearly a hot spot being focused on by serious activity.

I echo what Stephen is saying… worthwhile to listen in on Clayton Williams (and others too), especially with recent results. Just google ā€œ(company name), investor relationsā€ to arrive at web site showing conference calls, investor presentations, etc. Later – Buzz

I realize they will decline. My hopes, guys, is that after an initial decline they’ll level off.

Be happy with anything less than a 75% decline in the first year.

Tracy, Your 2004 lease may have had a retained acreage clause that released part of the acreage.

Dusty, thanks for the info that the KEW leases on sec 26, Blk C-8 are now held by BHP. I have had extensive dealings with BHP over the well drilled, and now being ā€œevaluatedā€ in sec 21, Blk C-17 via my lease with Keystone Petroleum on this section. Donny

Buzz, Thanks for the informantion on the activity by Cimarex. I’m also interested in any production info on the nearby wells. I try to use the RRC GIS Viewer and can find well but have not been able to get the production info on wells yet.
