For the Air Force it was the “Pecos Electronic Scoring Site,” a “Realistic Training Initiative to train Air Force B-1 and B-52 crews to bomb and evade missile sites.” http://mapcarta.com/26880186
This might be old news for those keeping diligent track of Clint’s much-appreciated list of permits. But for folks with land in T&P Blks 55/54 T7 area, some good news . . . Panther Exploration permitted on 11-3-16, Oliver 13-24 1H. (API 38935497.) Also, back on 3-21-16, Boone 18 1H. (API 38935179.) Maybe the fairway is moving westward, after all!
Tom, looks logistical. Looks like a concrete ramp around the rear of the structure with what may be light poles to illuminate whatever may take place there. I’m thinking loading and unloading.
While researching oil well locations, I came across this building (see attached pic). Anyone have an idea of what it is?! It’s literally in the middle of nowhere. (T&P Blk 54 T7 Sec 12 . . . way south of Toyah. Looks permanent and pretty expensive. You can tell the building has even striped parking spaces and light poles! No agriculture in the immediate area, so I don’t think it’s for that. There’s a 2015 permitted well location right next to it from Panther Exploration and a number of producing gas wells to the building’s west. If you copy and paste into Google Maps the coordinates “31.217233, -103.659878”, it’ll take you right there. Any ideas?
Tax records say the building you spotted in T&P Blk 54 has been there, in the middle of nowhere, since 2002. Since the City of Pecos bought it from the US Air Force in 2012 it’s been called the “City Training Facility” and the improvements there are on the tax rolls for $2.7 million.
No clue what kind of training the City is doing there but if you’re real curious I guess you can ask them.
I’m sure the employees are very busy there so you may have to go check the records there yourself or have a landman check for you…or google Texfile.com or is it Texasfile.com.
My wife’s family owns mineral rights in Reeves County Blk C-18 Sec 14. When my father-in-law purchsed the land in 1961 the records show he purchased 3/4 of the mineral rights. We have always been told we have 1/4 of the mineral rights. How can I determine the correct ownership?
Imoorhead, You need to research both forward and backward from the 1961 acquisition. Forward to be sure that your father-in-law did not assign a portion of the minerals to other parties. Backward to see exactly what the seller owned and assigned to your father-in-law. The seller could not sell more than he owned. I do not know what records your are looking at but if Seller sold owned 1/3 and sold 3/4 of what he owned, then buyer would get 1/3 X 3/4 = 1/4 minerals. Second question whether you are talking about the net minerals in the tract or in a well. Do you own 3/4 of minerals in the tract, but the tract is only a part of the well acreage so it reduced your interest to 1/4 in the well?
Our leases are being sold by Endurance Resources to Alpine Resources. Anyone have any dealings with Alpine. Btw, Endurance has been great to work with as a rights owner.
Family Lease with Clayton Williams ends this month; 480 acres A-5759, H+GN Blk13, sec 68. Am wondering who is interested/active in this area, and ballpark of current lease rates there. THANK YOU for all your help.
Mike – do you have any company names involved since 1993… who was the original lease with… what company were the checks from, and the like. Maybe that would solicit a reply from someone more familiar w/the area. The name you mentioned below – Topat Oil Corp. – is described: Founded in 2003, Topat Oil Corp is a small organization in the crude petroleum and natural gas companies industry located in Midland, TX. It has 2 full time employees and generates an estimated $165,000 in annual revenue.
