Does anyone know about Four Star Oil and Gas LLC? We have an offer of $350 per mineral acre and 25%. The land is in the J.I. Pifermo Survey, A-47.

We leased ours to Four Star Oil and Gas, LLC for a $1,000/acre bonus and 25% royalty. We used an attorney in Marshall named Chase Palmer. I highly recommend him as he helped us a great deal and has very reasonable rates. He also helped my Aunt with her lease. I think the lease was signed in the spring.

I have a lease with Forestar within this same survey. I understand that they put in a well within the survey that came up dry, The Rutledge #1. Do oil companies generally give up on a tract of land when a test well comes up dry or might they move somewhere else within the tract and try again? Forestar doesn't seem to be a huge oil company and I worry that they might not have the money to take chances on another possible dry well.
