Payne County, OK - Oil & Gas Discussion archives

Martha I called the OCC. The man said that the well was completed in October. It was producing 347 BOPD and 1436 mcfgpd . He said that first check should be end of April. However, I have not been sent a pooling doc. with the choices. Is this a decent well??

I called and a very helpful young lady checked for the order. The order has not gone out yet. She told me I could watch for it on the occ web site under the conducting business tab. Then go to Image documents and choose # 3 a little over halfway down the page. It is the OAP section and enter my case #. She said I would be able to view it before I received it. Thank you for all your help.

The well in 28 T20N R2E was completed in May. I Have never rc’d pooling orders and I figured it was because they had signed leases for the entire 640 acres, am I wrong? Devon called and said division orders would be sent out this week.

Sandra, They don’t send the pooling notice and order to mineral owners who are leased.

Ron: Okfuskee section 23 12N 8E/Royalties to Ethel Lowry…4K in unclaimed property. The Unclaimed Property in OKC wants a mineral deed for Ethel Lowry, I called Okfukee County Clerk’s office and they said they do not have time to look up Mineral Deeds or Division Orders. It was with Hampton Corporation who is now out of business and Landers Oil and Gas Inc, they are looking into it, but keep sending me in different directions like the Pacer company and they said we just handle royalty payments not deeds and division orders. The Pooling number is 554321 and different numbers for the Property ID one is 3694171,Most of the Lowry estate was in Payne County and we are doing OK with them, but where can I find a division order or mineral deed for this property…I looked in the OKC land lookup but came up empty…your thoughts?

Bob, I sent you a private message.

Bob, I’m not Ron, but my family trust holds a royalty interest in this well and may have the records. Pacer is purchasing the oil. OCC pooling order lists Ethel Lowry under Respondents With Unknown Addresses. http://imaging.occeweb.com/AP/Orders/OCC3724301.PDF

I sent you a private msg Martha, just did not hear back. Where do I find the mineral deed, or is that possible.

Also is the Pooling order a Division order or are they different?

Bob, for what it’s worth, I’m still pretty new at this myself— You need to go to the county clerks office in your county and look up your family’s deed. You will probably need a landman to help you though. I went through this and I did learn how to go all the way back to the patent date of the land and trace the way it was passed down. I needed the Landman to calculate my interest though. That part was quite complicated in my eyes. It’s tedious work and hiring a landman was well worth it for me. My advice is do the initial search yourself, get copies of the docs at the clerks office and then hire the landman. That way you are pretty certain you aren’t chasing rainbows before you spend on the landman. With the slowdown it might be a lot easier to find a landman right now.

A division order is sent to the mineral owner just before payments are issued. I’m pretty sure these are not filed at the clerks office. A pooling order is applied for by the operator to get the mineral owners who have not leased in the unit. This happens prior to drilling. You can find those on the occ. I can’t remember where right now, but someone on the forum can tell you.

I have been hearing AEP and the other oil companies have dropped the offer to buy minerals by a large margin. Does anyone know if this is true.

Greg,

NewsOK December 1, 2014:

“Plummeting oil prices may be hurting publicly traded energy companies, but they don’t seem to be affecting Aubrey McClendon and his startup ventures.”

The first round of funding, which closed Sunday, will be used to purchase 28,000 net mineral acres and 29,000 acres of overriding royalty interests in four basins where other affiliates of McClendon’s American Energy Partners LP is active: Ohio’s Utica Shale, the Marcellus Shale in Pennsylvania and West Virginia, the Woodford Shale in Oklahoma and Texas’ Permian Basin."

OK, I checked with the clerk in that county and they don’t search for you and I live in Vancouver, Wa. so its a ways to the clerks’s office.

Been dealing with this stuff for 10years and now helping my cousin’s…thanks.

Ive been following this forum for a while now so I apologize for this ‘rookie’ question but does the Woodford shale include Mississipian wells or am I mixing apples and oranges? Thanks

My family recently redistributed ownership of minerals in 19, 4E - Section 30. Our attorney sent copies of the new deeds filed in Payne County to American Energy about Oct. 23. He said we should receive division orders from them.

On Nov. 20, I called AEP, and the division order tech told me she couldn’t find the deeds our lawyer had sent and had no info, so I emailed her copies. She said AEP was very behind on transactions on minerals they bought from Calyx Energy (as ours were) and that their software/bookkeeping wasn’t up to the task (not sure what she meant).

She said she’d do ours “whenever I’m able to process transfers” - but we have no idea when that will be. Do we have any recourse to get this to happen?

Steve, The Woodford Shale underlies the Mississippian Lime, but different states call the lime and shale formations by different names. These articles are long hard, so look at the maps until you get a good mental picture, then go back and read. http://www.ogs.ou.edu/MEETINGS/Presentations/Miss2011/Manger.pdf

Thank you Martha. I am hanging in there.

Chevron and Saudi Arabia. North American shale reserves are second only to #1 Saudi Arabia. Iran will suffer from low oil prices and so will Russia. Both Saudi and US need oil price above $70 and can offset losses by increasing production. http://www.chevron.com/about/history/1927/?VideoId=KingdomAndChevro…

Melinda, I sent you a friend request for sending you lots of info. Sometimes, this is not an easy process.
