Payne County, OK - Oil & Gas Discussion archives

Jimmy: You can email Tim Andrews at (Tim.Andrews@aep-lp.com) and he will answer all your questions. He is the contact person for AEW. FYI

April 6 th T. Boone and others talk natural gas polices. http://www.ogj.com/articles/2016/04/wrong-policies-could-hamstring-…

Jimmy, The wells start off vertical then deviate at a kick off point starting a radius curve so that the well bores enter somewhat parallel into the formations which are mostly horizontal. Since the targets are not directly under the surface location it is called laterally drilled. Each time the laterally drilled well bore enters the target formation it is classified as a ‘horizontal well’ and by law AEW is required to notify OCC and owners of each well.

As usual, thanks very much for your knowledge and information Martha.

I know we’re supposed to be non-political here, there are some things I like about Bernie but as long as the House & Senate are Republican dominated it won’t happen in a million years.

Bernie Sanders has called for a nationwide ban on hydraulic fracturing.

I once had a neighbor who hated kids. He was the county building inspector who inspected all the local schools. The Middle East likes $100 oil, so lets stop all US fracking and see how long it takes to get there.

Jimmy, They can use a multi well pad and move the rig over 20 feet or so and drill all the wells. However, depending on the geology of the area, they sometimes drill only one formation from certain pads. Natural gas production is greatly improved by drilling gas wells in close proximately to each other.

Jimmy, your wells are now owned by White Star Petroleum. AEP started a new company for the AEP-Woodford, a Stand Alone Company

Martha, just got copy of the Commission Order approving AE to drill two new wells in 9-18N-2E of Payne county. These will be in the Mississippian whereas the two current ones that are producing are in the Woodford. Just wonder if these will be using the same surface hole or if a new one will have to be drilled? Hope these hit good! Jimmy

Jimmy, Over 2 miles of lateral is possible, but I’m not aware of any that long in Payne Co. OK. The Woodford is deeper than the Miss.

Martha and Bob. Just looked over the paperwork for the two news wells in the Mississippian for 9-18N-2E. The surface hole for the current two in the Woodford is in Section 16 which is immediately south of section 9. However, the surface hole for the two new ones in section 9 is in section 26. Seems like a long way! Is that because they have to go deeper to access the Mississippian?? Thanks Jimmy

On another note. I haven’t received a check since October of last year for an established producing well. Should I be worried??

Martha the last court documents were 1-4-16.

G Win, North Mack # in 08-20N-06W is an old natural gas well that has been producing almost 40 years. Bluebonnet is the operator and they are holding the section until the Woodford shale can be drilled and that may not happen until oil prices go up, so don’t sell your interest. Production may have gone way down and your lease may give them the right to withhold payment until a certain dollar amount is reached. I would call or write Bluebonnet. I have a format letter if you need.

G Win, With the price of oil being so low, I wouldn’t count on it. I don’t know what Longfellow has planned. They may want to keep your lease in force. Right now, I’d make sure the royalty payments are current. Money can be hard to collect from a company that gives up operations.

My 3 year lease will expire June 14th. There is an option to extend 2 years. This is for a horizontal well pooling to be drilled on 640 acres with 160 spacing. There is an existing well on the 640. What are the odds they will use their option and renew the lease? They have completed all the paperwork except the permit to drill. My aunt, sister and I own 160 acres.

G Win, What is the legal description of the 160 you own?
