You will find the forum very helpful. The Mineral Help tab at the top is a good intro to mineral ownership. The West Virginia Category has sub-categories by county. Good way to learn about activity and questions others have had. Read up on your counties. There are several experts listed in the Directories tab who can help in certain areas.
The National Association of Royalty Owners has an Appalachia Chapter which has directors who can help with quesions. They hold town halls and conventions.
If you know that there is production, contact your operator and notify of the change in title. You may have to furnish probate copies or other documents. Get to know the West Virginia oil and gas website. Ask lots of questions!
