It could be present in the Northwest corner of the state, but most maps show it ending at the Pennsylvania-New Jersey state line.
There are some small cores in the north and gas companies are looking in the area that I have heard.

The Marcellus Shale is located in these counties Passaic, Sussex, and Warren.
Generally considered to be too far east…
