Logan County, OK - Oil & Gas Discussion archives

Kaye, the highest I have seen so far is $5,500.00 in Logan county. After more and more completion reports come out I would expect it to only get higher. This area will be highly developed in a very short time.

1 Million Kaye? LOL I think tht depends on how much longer Ben Bernanke can hang on and what Timothy Geithner has planned for us. I have some
Confederate money Grandpa gave me long ago…still.

Mineral Steve, Thanks! I’ve got awhile to wait for it to hit a$1,000,000. per acre, don’t I? lol

Mineral Steve, do you remember the legal on that?

Mineral Steve,

Where are you seeing those prices? That’s twice as much as I see stuff going for.

Jordan,

I posted some results for a 902 BOPD Woodford well recently drilled by Devon. Recently you will see some mineral deeds in that section. Thats where I would look if I were you.

Maybe, I’d better dream about them getting a rig out their first!! haha

Ah, for a section with a completed well. That sounds right.

Thats right! & with the filings coming up/out soon I bet you will see even more per acre.

I read about a new Deepwater Horizon 2 rig in the Gulf? At the first, I thought that was the name of the well, but that is not correct (I was WRONG???) Yep, Deepwater Horizon was the name of the drilling rig, not the well that exploded. The well just being completed had a bunch of numbers for it’s name. But DWH still holds the record for drilling the deepest well on the planet, if I understand it right. This technology is coming to North Central Oklahoma before long. Equipment may bew already here. Did anyone else read about a new well head somewhere in Oklahoma that was a whopping 75 feet high? I can’t find it now.

Well, Ron … aren’t you the one who’s been saying to dream big? lol

Hiya Steve!

Might I ask where the 902 BOPD Woodford well was drilled? Was it in Logan County?

M. Barnes,

So these three would be below the Woodford in the Logan,Garfield,Grant county areas?

There is also my assumption, and am seldom wrong, that the data and information seismologists/geoligists are reeming from current drilling activities in Logan County must certainly have these seismoligists/geologists scratching their heads and wondering…“But I thought…?” Happens all of the time, the more we think we know, the more we have to forget about and improve our technique in the future…

Logan County

Section 5-T18N-R2W

Hunton, Viola and Simpson can all be below the Woodford and all can be productive, depending upon where you are in OK. Also, depending upon depth and maturation of hydrocarbons (and price of oil or gas.)

Ronald,

I thought there wasn’t anything deeper than the Woodford, below that being salt water disposal but I may be totally wrong.

Osage/Slawson and Devon are drilling for the Woodford in Logan Co. I am not that familiar with Garfield and Grant, so cannot comment on them or whether the other zones are productive around there. They are productive in other counties that I have looked at. Look up the Osage Investor presentation from February 2013 on their website if you want some maps on Logan.

I notice in Osage’s 24 June press release they are experiencing delays in completions due in part to infrastructure. They are building out some electrical grid and pipelines apparently on their own.
