Energy Develpment Corp is one of Osage Exploration’s Partners. This link goes to a video on their web page that helped me become a lot less ignorant about horizontal drilling. It is under the multimedia tab in case this link does not go directly to the video.
A question about acreage. How do I find out what my acreage actually is? All the paperwork has is sec twp range info. Where do I look? Thanks in advance!
Stephen, Others may know a better way but the way I found out was to go on line to the courthouse records [a link and instructions were posted on this forum a few days ago] I researched with the legal and learned what company was leasing to people. I then called the company. They had a database of royalty owners. Perhaps someone knows an easier way.
Stephen You could have called the county clerk at 405-282-0266 and ask them to look and see how many acres are in lot 1 & lot 2 and they will tell you that lot 1 has 43.98 and lot 2 has 44.16 . The E/2 or the NW/4 will be 80 acres. Now you need to find out how much John Edward had under that tract or did he have it all. It looks like this will be further back then I can find online. Do you have a old deed that might show it ?
Stephen, Several leases were completed in mid 2011 for royalty owners in E2 NW4 lots i and 2. Land companies were Chesapeake, Barton Land, Blackhawk and T S Dudley. I think TS Dudley works for Devon. My cousins and I leased through TS Dudley this past go around in 17n 3W, as did my Mother and my Aunt years ago. They should have you or your ancestors in their data base. Why not give them a call?
Stephen, Just an FYI, from the number of people with leases in the legal description, one might guess you do not own the whole thing. Join the club. lol. Hey, a few acres is more than zero/zip.
Ron, I’ll keep looking and ask my dad - the John Edward you referenced. He quit claimed all to myself and 3 sibs. Earlier I mentioned 89 or so acres that was split between my mom and two others, now her third is broken into fourths with me and my sibs. I keep seeing mention on other leases (Tester in part.) 168+ acres. Thanks again!
