@Ron: Thanks for the map…excellent find (as always)
@db: Excellent information…just curious as where you’re getting Devon’s “gas in the pipeline” info? I’m asking because Devon has our lease in Garfield County.
Virginia—next time try Pacific salmon if you can find any. The best smoked salmon I ever ate was at LaPush, Washington. A little Indian fishing village on the Pacific side of the Olympic Peninsula about as far northwest as you can get. Fresh smoked right out of a homemade smokehouse—delicious.
Meanwhile, in Cyprus, it looks as if they will tax all existing deposits in all banks only 1% so as to get bailed out by the EU. This is because they do not want the Russians poking holes for oil/gas. Could that happen here? Well, 1% does not sound like much, but that is not too important. The important thing is the Taxman and tax ladies have gotten their greedy foot in the door if this goes through. Mister Obama is watching I bet.
Thank you for the response. We have a very small interest, so am I correct that I should just wait for any potential pooling? Easy decision that I will take the 1/4.
Virginia—I didn’t see the spud notice but from information I read, it sounds like they have started drilling on Ruffed Grouse 1-20H at 20-17-3. Hopefully I’m not reading something into it that is not there. It’s raining here a little and supposed to for a couple of days, and same forecast for Logan County area.
W Schweer, a lot of leasing around both townships but not much drilling yet. Devon has pooled 11-15N-2W and were ordered to offer $500 for 3/16th or 0 cash and 1/4th. They started a well there 12/15/12.
I sure hope that Logan County doesn’t get like that.
But, I’m so happy for the people in North Dakota and especially the farmers who have had a hard time making a living up there. I just hope they still have their minerals and can enjoy a little of that money.
Here is a link. Scroll down to OAP Orders and Case Files; If you know any of the docket numbers for Location, Spacing or Pooling, you can find the others.
Only God knows how I got there and for sure no one at OCC Helpdesk will assist with anything. Clearly I was looking for something about the Sooner Well that is in the top part of the screen. Notice also the other links. None of this requires Oracle. Good luck.
Regarding do they drill on Sunday, come on Ronald, they drill every day, even on Christmas Day. Once the well starts it can’t quit. I remember as a kid they moved drilling rigs on Christmas Day and it had rained so much that a dozer was pushing the truck down the road. This was before gravel roads. Do they get overtime? Dream on, this is really hard work. Some companies let them work 6 hours on, 6 hours to sleep and 6 hours work. They live in trailer bunks on site. Lots of drilling companies are a lot nicer than others and have their meals delivered to the well site. Do they get to see their family? If they have a drilling break they may be lucky to get to see them. Do they make what CEOs make? No way.
Ron,
I did post a Bass v Chesapeake. I can’t wait to see the outcome of this suit. This Dallas attorney is really great in court and will probably use Chesapeake attorney as a mop.
Harley,
OCC is a little dated, but they are trying. Oklahoma has come a long ways in the last few years. But, they still have the “Pony Express” bring parts to the equipment dealers. I thought it was a joke till I saw it with my own eyes. Next time call Donna or Junior at 405-521-2613. But, you have to be really nice or they may not like Texans. They have been great to me and very helpful. I can tell you stories about the RRC and some of their services, guess it’s who you know and what kind of a day they had. I know OCC is supposed to be getting some new software program in and hopefully it will be more user friendly.
I think it’s come a long ways, but I still don’t think it’s an easy job. My uncle owned a drilling company in Cushing, Oklahoma back in the 1940s/1970s and I knew I didn’t want that kind of work. The filling station and restaurant on Highway 51 and I-35 (Logan County) was taking meals to rig sites for $25 per meal. I heard that drilling companies were having trouble getting people to work, so guess they are having to treat their workers better. I think our welfare system maybe the blame for this or maybe we need to get more south of the border people in Oklahoma. Now offshore is a whole different world. Have a friend in Louisiana who hasn’t seen her husband for 6 months, he works offshore.
