Logan County, OK - Oil & Gas Discussion archives

I heard that when Gene Autry sang about the lowly Gymsum weed in BACK IN THE SADDLE AGAIN, some people experiemented with Bar B kuing with it. I never heard from them again, So I don’t think I will try it, especially sseing some cows on it in NM. Nasty stuff, but my own daddy told me that cedar smoke would make one sick. I do not know one way or the other. But Gymsum weed, better known as Loco Weed, is some nasty stuff. I always thought marijuana was Loco Weed, but it is not.

Anyone have any information onn Section 31, Township 19N, Range 2 West Logan County?

Well, who woulda guessed that allah that petroleum we sent our younun’s to fight and die for in Iraq would not be ours, but go to the Turks? Well, that is really pretty good news for us, but we could have saved a good 9 or 10 years by not even trying to get it in the first place. Maybe we should do more developing in our own back yards and less stealing from other back yards?

Chad,

I can’t figure out if my on line friend reply went out.

Thank you for the cedar recipe, we are going to try it Friday eve.

I don’t want to get to much cedar smoke going as it could be headed for Catherine place in Oklahoma. I wonder if those red cedar trees that burned last summer was here?

Virginia-----I have a very sensitive nose when it comes to smoke from a slab of cedar with a salomon steak on it. If there is any left, send it my way.

EXCELLENT!!! That guy does it very similar to how I do it, except I like to add thick grained kosher salt to the board before I oil it (old bartender trick). As far as a sauce, go with what you like, or don’t use any at all. either way its all good. Let me know how it turns out (oh and be sure to save some for Catherine and everyone else here…lol lol).

if the government took peoples mineral rights away I wouldn’t want to live within 20 miles of a pipeline because someone might have hard feelings.

I believe that some minerals are owned by the crown in England and passed down, I don’t see how that differs from my inheriting minerals except i had more need for the cash. Lori on this forum has a Canadian freehold. I do admit that outside the US personal mineral ownership is rare but it does happen.

Ronald,

Something like that could happen here, but I think it will be more with China and Chesapeake. They are selling us out. Chesapeake investor are mostly foreign countries, so now they own the leases and the well. Chesapeake will be doing what the investors want. Then you add a broke government and they will tax it to death unless they can figure out how to take the minerals away from the owners like most of the other countries have already done. I know their are a couple other countries that people can still own minerals, but most countries have already taken that away.

I understand that the U.S. is the only Country where individuals can own minerals according to a tape I listened to by the ROA.

I wonder if this Tulsa World Staff Member who wrote this is on the happy juice or loco weed or what???

I quote…

Okla oil and gas reports, Friday Feb 8, COMPLETIONS

Well, either I am missing something, or somebody slipped a mickey in my morning tea.???

You are right on that, but I think I would want to be 50 miles away. If the government keeps pushing people, like take our mineral, guns, etc., we may all be in danger. Not going to worry about that today as I’m getting to many gray hairs now.

Ron,

I’m sure the ROA has better information that I do. But, I thought their was still a couple small countries left. I’m sure our government will figure out before long how to take our mineral and then the land. If we look at some of the foreign countries, most people don’t even own the land, all government owned and people work/farm for them. Most people live in flats, just like our apartments. Only the very wealthy live on estates. My family came from Germany and they sold their estate (land), but a few years later the government had it. Thanks to all the young men and woman that fought for our freedom, we have been able to keep our land and minerals. But, for how long, I don’t know.

click on the map and it will get bigger

Ron McK, thanks for this link, it is very informative, and since many oil executives/experts are sayiing the Mississippian in and around Logan County is projecting to be as good or better than Bakken, I am still steadfast in my belief that Logan County is in for some very great and exciting news very soon. My bones just itch an twitch like never before.

Could this kind of extortion happen here? Russia butters up Cyprus by bailing them out of their financial mess in 2011, and now Cyprus is right back in the same kind of mess only deeper. Banks have frozen all accounts, most of which actually are wealthy crooks hiding money from the taxmen and tax ladies, and Cyprus is begging for help. So Russia tells them, ok we will bail you out if you give us unrevokable exclusive and permanent rights for all oil and gas exploration in, on and around the whole of Cyprus.

I consider Saudi to be one of the countries that have private ownership of minerals, the thing is they only belong to one family, that pays for government out of petty cash.

Does anybody know anything about a Devon well drilled SE of Guthrie…maybe 5 miles east of I-35? I know they recently drilled it and they had a big ol flame burning that you could see from I35 which my cousin that works for an oil company says means they have lots of natural gas but no pipeline. one of my grandma’s neighbors said that they have security guards at the well site which is something my cousin had never really heard of. I thikn my oil rights are near that well so i’d love to hear any information!!!

need a legal , section, township ,and range

Virginia, love your gray hair, as I do my own. I still got lots of it, and depending on the image I want to project in my mysic/poetry videos, have hair coloring to use. Now.

My Daddy, resting in peace and union with God, always said the reason Russia (Soviet Union back then,) would never invade us is because every farmer in the USA had at least 2 or 3 guns. They need to pay attention to this on Capitol Hill and the White House. I kinda think they are.
