Nikki Leach is a very good oil and gas attorney in Perry. He was raised east of Orlando and knows the Mulhall Orlando area well.

Lee,
Kaye who has minerals west of Orlando got $800. I can’t remember how many acres she had.
I have heard that the Miss. wells aren’t standing up as good as they thought and they have dropped the leasing price. Yet, I know several area in Noble & Garfield that is getting $500 to $800. And Woods Co it’s way up their.
Brooke, I also own minerals in Township 16N, Range 1E (not your section though). I’ve been approached by a landman from a different company. I did research on the Oklahoma County Records web site and it showed mainly one company leasing in that entire township/range. So, I doubt the lease value is very high. I was offered $300.
Virginia, that is interesting news as I had also heard something similar that they initially look good, but fall very fast and that some folks are giving up leasing in the area. I also tried to look up the data that Ron mentioned back a few months ago, but I can’t find the same numbers he did, I see numbers that are much lower than quoted. I only could find the press releases that looked bigger, but didn’t say how much they dropped.
scfd = standard cubic feet per day.
Dazed & Confused,
I think the data that Ron mentioned was on the OCC site. If you can figure out the unit # and purchases # on a well, then you can see how much is being sold each month. That will give you a real good idea what is taking place.
I’m not sure how you can get these # without having the wells.
I know in TX, we were getting as much as $25,000 per A for a lease and 25%, then the oil companies decided they had enough leases and wouldn’t pay over $6,000. Several people I know never got a dollar. So, if you are a big gambler, you can hold out for more, but you still may not get anything. Since gas is down, we can’t even lease down here. And most of the wells are shut in, just holding out lease.
I meant 500,000 sdfd of gas.
Robert, What’s your legal??
All wells have flush production: the production iniatially seen when bringing the well on at first. This is normal for any formation. I worked in Prudhoe Bay Alaska and brought on many new wells to see them drop by 60% or more over the first two months. Mississippi lime wells are no different. The adkisson well just to the north of me came on at 700 bbls per day, and last time I talked to the pumper was doing between 200 and 300 bbls per day of oil, which is a good well. My legal is 18N 3W sec 4. One of the things happening in this area is that the gas cannot be flared off the tanks anymore, they have to sell it. The problem is that there is back pressure on the pipelines, (they are all full), and so this back pressures the wells, drives the fluid levels down on the vertical part, and keeps the downhole pumps from pumping at full capacity. It is sort of like shaking up a bottle of coke and seeing the gas push the fluid level down in the bottle. That is one factor why some of the wells are not producing at full capacity. I am working in a NGL facility, and whenever our plant has problems and we cannot take as much gas as we normally do, it back pressures the wells feeding us. This slows oil production down by increasing their backpressure at the wellhead. The wells feeding our plant are all horizontal wells. The higher the GOR, gas to oil ratio, the higher effect gas back pressure will have on oil production. Many of the mississippi wells are making 500 scfd or more after flush production. Don’t worry too much about the oil companies going away and giving up their leases.
Devon permit 17-17n-3w
For Pam Mineralowner re: 9/17/12 comment:"…the best lease offer is $350 NMA with 3/16 royalty." I’ve got minerals in S32, T15N, 1W, and have been offered $100 NMA with 3/16 royalty. Could you tell me: (1) Who your offer is from, and (2) What the primary lease term is?
Thanks!
Robert … so you’re right below me! Thanks for taking the the time to describe how this works! I’m going to save this! I don’t understand why they would backoff getting as much out as fast as they can, but I that’s why I’m here to learn what I can from people like you that have hands on experience … thanks again, Robert!
D. There is not much going on in 17n-2w yet. This Horizontal play is just getting started . In 17n-3w they have filed the paper work to get ready for drilling eight section or more. one pooling I found ordered them to offer the choice of 550 for 1/8th, 525 for 3/16th or 500 for 1/5th. Osage is doing most of it . In 18n-2w Devon has about 6 sections they are filing on ,four of them have polling hearings this month. In 6 & 7 they are filing to drill a Multi unit under two sections from one well.
I own the mineral rights to some acreage in Section 33 of Logan County. Recently someone contacted me with an offer to lease the land for 300 per acre “tiny bonus”, depth clause, and 3/16 (3 year lease with option for 2 more years).
I’m wondering if this offer sounds reasonable.
D. 33, what township & range

nice article about Hogshooter by Seeking Alpha today;
The “Hogshooter” is a limestone oil formation in Logan, Lincoln, Oklahoma, and
Creek counties in western Oklahoma and the Texas Panhandle (roughly the Anadarko
Basin/Granite Wash). Chesapeake Energy (CHK) announced on June 1, 2012 its largest oil gusher in company history in the Hogshooter
formation. The Thurman Horn 406H well produced 5,400 bopd during its first eight
days of operation. This was more than twice the output rate of some of the best
performing wells in the Eagle Ford shale. This well which reaches 10,000 ft. in
depth also pumped 4.6 MMcf /d of natural gas and 1,2000 bpd of natural gas
liquids. All told, the initial production was 7,350 boe/d.

The only Hogshooter I seen in Logan was a dry hole that was drilled in the last year.
Penn Virgina did drill a horizontal well on the Davis Farms that IP’d at 58 bopd and Slawson drilled a well on Davis Farms in 5-16N-3W in May but no IP report yet.
