J W,
Thanks for clearing the bonus up. But, that isn’t true in all states. Not sure what OCC does, I think what you have written is correct for OK.

Mineral Joe,
I don’t have any legals on the wells that aren’t standing up. Only here said from a pumper who is suppose to pumping the wells in the area. He stated they are coming in big and but he didn’t think they would stay that way as some were dropping fast. I have tried to look them up on production records, but without knowing who the purchases are, it’s hard. I did check a couple of purchaser records in the area and some of the wells had records oil sale, other were in the 150 bb on monthly bases. I didn’t check to see when each well came in or anything.
Mineral Joe and Virginia,
I talked to Donna in Consumer Services at the OCC and was able to ascertain that the Wolf 1-29H belonging to Osage in S29-17N-3W of Logan County is producing at 500+ bbl and 300+ mcf of gas per day as of March with the purchaser being Conoco Philips.
Kaye,
I’m sure you’re right about the oil companies not liking for us peons to confer with one another about leasing #'s. Thank goodness for the technology that we have at our fingertips today. Than you to Steven, Kaye, Robert Brian and Virginia for the mountain of information you share with other Forum members. And also thank you Kenny Dubose for the Mineral Rights Forum.
Clint Liles
Steve,
Thank you for checking the Wolf 1-29H well out.
I checked the completion records at OCC and it only went on line March 10, 2012. Initial test was 315 BBL/D gravity 36 and 520 mcf gas. So, it’s going better than the initial test. It will be interesting to see how it stand up.
If anyone has any additional information on this well, I would love to hear it.
Clint the larger companies also do not want to give out completion results in a timely manner. Continental has drilled over 20 wells in the Grady County area over that last year or so with no completion reports to the OCC. Our well went on line on 4-01-2012 and only have rumors of production numbers and the tax comm. said it would probably be August before they have any numbers on the well. I want to thank everyone for the information you provide on this County forum group. Has anyone in the group leased to or heard of Viper Resources, doing a lot of leasing in Lincoln County but can not get this question answeed there?
JW, Thanks for clearing up the force pooling dilema! That’s how OCC explained it to me. I also, recieved a copy of a pooling order in Logan and I believe it had the breakdown spelled out just like you said! I’ll have to take a look at it again!
It’s been alleged, that some mineral owners have been threatened that if they didn’t sign the lease they were offered, they’d be “forced pooled”! If that’s true, and it’s being used as a scare tactic, it should immediately put up some red flags!!
I still believe that the oil companies converse with each other to keep up on what they’re paying out in bonuses/royalties and so should we, the mineral owners, it’s just good business sense! If we keep everyone “In The Dark” inasmuch, as to what we’ve been paid we’re only “Shooting Ourselves In The Foot”, and doing nothing, but helping the oil companies fill their coffers with the money they should be offering and paying us!
It doesn’t make any sense to me why anyone would be opposed to disclosing what they were paid, “especially, if it would help push up the bonuses for others”! As far as I’m concerned, if it were dependent upon someone getting as much or more for their minerals than I did, I wouldn’t have a problem with providing a copy of my check to show what I was paid, per acre.
In particular, we shouldn’t be Ok with being thrown a bone after the “fat cats” have eaten all the meat off it while, washing it down with their fine bottles of wine’ …
Continental won’t even tell the people that they drilled the well on what it’s making.
I think I am right on this:
Viper Recources is the new name for Cobra, changed the name about 2009. Cobra is out of Houston and their was a company in west Texas panhandle with almost the same name. I think Viper has an office in OK City now. Never dealt with them, so don’t know anything about them.
It’s kind of like Greg Taft company Moncrieff (Colo company) & Moncrief out of Ft. Worth. If one of these companies does something wrong and get a bad wrap, it’s hard on the other company sometimes as people don’t realize it 2 different companies.
Has any one heard of or had dealings with Tetra Energy who is leasing in Logan county?
Thomas,
Blue Dolphin did a lot of off shore drilling in gulf of Mexico, not sure if it’s the same company.
Richard,
Tetra Energy is a one stop company. I didn’t realize they were doing their own leasing. If I remember right, they are foreign owned. Maybe someone on here can remember by whom. Don’t have it wrote down anywhere that I can find.
Richard,
One stop company means that they division that can do the drilling, frack, completion, tanks set up and pipelines, etc. What people don’t understand, once the land is lease, that is a very small cost and time. Once a land man contacts a mineral owner and the mineral owner agrees to sign, then that lease is sent to a legal consultant to research the title for ownership, etc. That is why the leasing company give a person a draft and has 30 days for research. Once that is complete, it is leased. From there on, you are looking at another 14 plus companies to get the location ready to drill and bring the well in. Plus lots of legal work goes into each well on spacing, etc.
I don’t know any one that does title search in Logan Co, except lawyers.
You may call the Logan Co clerk office and ask if they have anyone that is retired and can do any searching for you. Since I live in Texas, I don’t know anyone at the Logan Co. Clerk office.
Also, if you know the name of the person who may have owned the minerals in the pass, you can go to some counties in OK and put that name in to see what comes up.
Then you can pay $10 per month and look at the information and even print it off for a small fee.
I think they are a legitimate outfit. The have been competing against us on a number of leases, but I haven’t heard anything strange about their offers. I do think they aren’t as thorough with title work as we are though.
Logan County experts: Please look at my updated thread:

Got the paperwork from my dad, I’ve got a bad feeling about this!
Thanks!
Matt
I’m back again to tap the wisdom of those who have the experience. Does anyone have information on Blue Dolphin Production. We have a person connected to them that wants to make an offer on our minerals.
Thomas,
You might want to check this out…
Virginia thank you. What is meant by one stop company? Duing my investigation of some inherited mineral rights Tetra has been leasing all around two of our small parcels. I wonder if you know a land person who would be wiling to help check out 8 different locations of ownership, how much is owned and if they might want to lease them? I am disabled and need some help with courthouse work. We have aound 3 producing wells with very small interests that we lnherited in the 60’s form my step-dad, just recently two other wells showed up on the State missing fund and we retrieve those, but obtained a list of these other eight properties that we might own interest in. All of these together probably not alot of worth but you never know and i am at a loss how to continue.
Richard, if your minerals are in T16 - T19 and R2W - R4W you might want to email Greg Taft, to see if he would be interested gtaft@moncrieffoilproperties.com
Richard, like Virginia said, its real simple to go online to the country recorders and plug your name in under Logan County. It’s free to search! Sorry, I don’t have much time this morning, but hope this helps you out!
Has Chesapeake went mad?
I just read that they may sell part of the company to Sinopec, a chinese oil & Gas company. I knew they were already in bed with Total, a France co.
But, how is a communist run company going to do business in the US. Are we selling our oil out now. We have already sold our wind power. Has anyone got any better information on this?
