Logan County, OK - Oil & Gas Discussion archives

I dunno. The first gusher in TX was the Lucas well, producing 100,000 barrels day. Then along came the Wild Mary Sudik well in sub okla city which over 1,000,000 (over one million mcf every day just plain blew out to the wind every day, over 2 weeks, until she was capped on the third attempt. How much oney is that just wasted into the Oklahoma wind over 2 weeks time??? Uhhh, letsee…

Just commenting on the venting gas to atmosphere topic. Because of EPA regulations (clean air act,) oil and gas producers are not allowed to vent their gas to atmosphere through the storage tanks on the well pad, as they have done for years. So oil producers are now having to build gas pipelines to their locations to sell the gas. The corporation commission is allowing them to flare their gas for a short period of time until they get their pipeline built. As a result of this regulation, mineral owners are now being paid for their gas, no matter the price. Also gas plants are popping up all over oil fields across America stripping the gas of NGLs (propane,) and providing thousands of jobs like the one I have. Another benefit is that the poor old farmer downwind of the well pad is no longer breathing in methane every day. Next time one of the Teabaggers talks about job killing regulations you might want to enlighten him or her. It probably wont do any good, but sometimes regulations are a good thing.

Went by the place and they started drilling the well. The problem I do not have the sec range info. They are drilling a horizontal back under my section. The rig Is H & P rig #251. Can anyone help with the drilling permit etc. this I close to sec24 18W range 2W. This rig maybe in Payne, not sure.

I found a permit for 23-18n-2w for wells under 22, 23, & 27 from 23 and a SWD well on 23.

Is there a link?

Akin to that and the production in Logan/Payne couties, I wonder if anyone has a guess as to how long the Wild Mary Sudik would have flowed at the rate she lost over time if they had put it into production at the time? Is it possible she could still be pumped today?

Robert Brian,

Nice to have someone with boots on the ground to tell what is going on. Thanks. Wondering, what is the short period they can flare their gas until they get their pipeline built?

That is right, and we should all come to realize how much of a friend and advocate our President Obama has been, is still, and will always be to mineral owners nationwide. His clean act is one of the best thing he has done for USS energy, hip hip hoorah! God bless Oklahoma God bless America and God bless Logan County, including Guthrie.

Ron Von … Since you’re the buzz of the forum tonight, I couldn’t resist with your Obama comment … All I can do is laugh!! hahaha "Obama’s our friend!!! Hahaha

I note in some of the comletion reportws, which take something of a genius to read and understand, that there is a distinction allowed between pumping and flowing. Sounds pretty simple, but I also do not notice any of them being flowing that I have read so far, is Oklahoma production more pumping than flowing? I guess that the well drilled by the first Deep Water Horizon in the gulf was undoubtedly flowing, as its last reporet was over 30,000 per day every day for what…180 days before they got it plugged? Just curious and stuff.

Ronald, I understand that Devon Energy has spudded a well for Sec 36, T19N, R2W on 9/27/13. I looked on this site for the well permit. Devon, the Corporation Commission, and the Oklahoma Oil Registry have all confirmed that the well has started to drill. When was the permit issued? Is the well is being drilled from a pad in another section?

As a footnote, I have always heard that only New Yorkers have licences to cry in the USA, I lived there, I can just hear them now. LOL

Interesting Marlo, but the rest of us need to keep in mind that all potatoes don’t have the same eyes, so one well may go a year or more while another may be 7-8 months or less Depends on many factors.

M. Barnes,

Is the 31-19N-1w well in Payne County? I also have an interest in that section in Payne.

ANN, YOU CAN GOOGLE MANY CALCULATORS SHALEBIZ.COM IS ONE

Another strong indicator that what happens in faraway places definitely affects Logan County and all of Oklahoma in a big way. Latest example I see will boost the market price of Natural Gas, and it has no where to go but up. Boone Pickens knows his pickens LOL. It is the little known Spectra Natural Gas Pipeline under none other tha New York City, which has already been built and will be put into service, after many, many strong protests, on NOvember 1 of this year. (2013) Watch the price go up now.

Update: I own a very small interest in 26-17N-3W. The initial spud date was last December, Completion April. I received my division order late last week of course with an attachment they had to research on the title. Simply that one of my grandparents passed before the other one. Signed with Sendero for Osage and Division order from Slawson. Thought this might be helpful for all of you that are curious on the timelines. Slawson only pays on the 15th of each month so if my amount is over 100.00 I will get a check almost a year after the spud date.
