Johnston County, OK - Oil & Gas Discussion archives

Tom.

Yes, XTO goes back all the time and drills additional wells. They seem to start with one well close the one of the section boundaries. This leaves room for additional wells and ties up the lease. I have seen documents with wells drilled as close as 400' apart. Usually it is about 600'. They will hug the boundaries by getting closer than the allowed 330' on the Ease and West sides. They may drill from 2 or 3 pads also.

Don, I just got a re-lease letter from a representative for Continental wanting to lease some interest I have in Garvin county. I think this is the more oil rich part of the Woodford. Section 19 4north 4west. I am they offered $600.00 an acre bonus and 3/16 royalty. How often can one get a better deal, like 1/4 royalty? My Ross wells in Johnson county are starting to pay a bit more. I wish a lot more. Tom

Tom,

You might post this on the Garvin and Stephens county forum. Seems that quite a few people have mineral interest in both counties.

I see XTO has an Increase Density request with the OCC for 9 new wells in Section 31 3S 4E.

Hi Daniel, I just saw the following: Johnston: XTO Energy Inc.; Winkler No. 1-25H30X29 Well; SW1/4 NE1/4 SE1/4 SE1/4 (SL) of 25-04S-05E; TD 17,500.

They are going to drill this. Since I have not heard anything from XTO, I may not have interest but I have interest in Johnson counties sections 29 and 30. What is your opinion? Thanks, Tom

Well Daniel, I just looked at some of the CD Case numbers and it looks like they are talking about 4 south 6 east, not 5 east. Shucks.

I am new to this group. I have recently received a lease offer for $150 an acre with 3/16ths royalty for Johnston County, OK. Does anyone know what the lease rates are currently running? It seems low to me. I have a very very small interest but am curious. I don't want to sign a lease for 150 if the going rate is much higher.

Ginny Need to know where in Johnson Co.

SE/4 of 24-2S-8E

Ginny They have filed for a pooling for se/4 24-2s-8e for a straight hole well and it was recommended 4/15/14 . An order will come soon. I think I would wait and make an election under the pooling. The terms of the lease I looked at are not great. The same Co. has filed for Horizontal wells in 2s-9e. If they do that in 2s-8e they will have to pool you again if you make election under the first pooling. That would be another bonus if they did.

Thank you Ron. Is there a link to a website that I could go to in order to see the terms of the pooling agreement? I'm still curious about rates. The lease I received is actually dated 4/17 which is subsequent to the recommendation of the pooling order. I have seen in another state where the pooling order would match the highest paid lease amount. Any idea if Oklahoma functions that way? Also, do you know whether the primary production in Johnston County is oil or gas. You have been so helpful. Thank you.

They use what was paid in the eight units around the one been pooled to set the amount . Here is all that has been posted on the pooling. No order yet. You should be named if you have not signed a lease.

Ron, thanks again. It is interesting that the lease I have received from a landman states the Lessor is Northshore Energy & Investments out of Purcell. When I look them up it appears that the are in the investment advice business. Have you ever heard of them?

No I have not but they are doing all the leasing around you and are leasing for Husky .This is not a pooling order for your section but you can see what one looks like .

Ron, I have been looking at the Oklahoma Commission website. When I enter our legal a well name, number, api #, and operator number all come up but then I can't get any additional information - i.e. production information etc. I click on the hourglass and it only makes the font larger - if I click on the Excel button it only exports the same information that I am seeing on the screen. Any ideas?

This is all there is now . They will file a spud report when they start the well and a completion report sometime after they finish.

Thanks Ron!

An XTO landman told me that the Barney 1-26H27 (27-4S-4E) spud on May 21st, 2014.
