Have a lease with EGTS and Long Ridge, but Thrasher and Diversified had the permit

In 2024, we signed a lease with Eastern Gas and Transmission Services (EGTS) and Log Ridge LLC. We haven’t heard anything beyond receiving a very small quarterly check for gas storage. Last year I discovered Thrasher and Diversified submitted a permit request in which their proposal went across our property (screenshot attached showing what I have assumed is the proposed pipeline?). Then a drill rig went up at the site indicated for the rig in the proposal. It was there for 6 months or more, and recently it was taken down. Now the state O&G site doesn’t even indicate there is a permit. Is this normal? Does this mean the pipeline never went in?

And is the fact that this was companies we don’t have a lease with mean it’s nothing to us?

Basically, I know nothing about this, and just want to ensure we aren’t missing out on some kind of payment we should get. This is so muddy and confusing to me.

We only own 3.5 acres, so we don’t expect to get rich or anything, but I don’t like being so clueless that I might be missing something so please, I could use some advice. If it helps, the API is 4703306028.

Those yellow lines are horizontal wells. It is common to have a lease with one agent, but the operator is different. The operator can combine many leases together to cover the drilling spacing unit. The surface location is the white circle and then they might have drilled those four yellow wells. Depending upon the language, you may have royalties from just the one well that you circled, or you may have royalties from all four if they are in the same spacing unit. The Division Order (contract for Division of payments) will tell you when it arrives.

It takes about four-six months to drill a long horizontal well. Then they need to frac it. In this case, they may have drilled all four and that takes longer. Takes another four-five months to run the title on all the owners before issuing the title opinion and sending out the Division Orders. In WV, you do not have to sign the division order to get paid. You do need to return a letter with your W-9 so that they have your correct address and do not take out federal taxes.
