Garvin County, OK - Oil & Gas Discussion archives

In some documents Darla found for us-thanks Darla!-I see 2 tract descriptions for sec. 08 2N3W: under “producing royalties” is E/2 NW/4 and under “non producing mineral interests” is NE/4 SW/4 NW/4, NW/4 SE/4 NW/4, and the north 4 acres of the NE/4 NW/4. I graphed these several times & they always come out overlapping-am I doing it right and if so, what does that mean? could it be a typo? I have seen the beginning part of it a little differently expressed elsewhere.

Hutch…that by no means breaks the record I hold! lol

Rick, very nice demonstration of how to read the land descriptions! Are you a teacher?

I really don’t know what documents you are looking at. It could be a mistake on the documents, maybe the timeline is different and what was non-producing is now. It may be descriptions from probates. Producing and Non-producing are usually used within probate documents because the value is usually determined by different methods. I’ve seen many errors in probate documents. It is more common to find owners that don’t know what they own than those that do and then the probate documents end up reflecting the same errors.

“Are you a teacher?”

LoL, I am known in some circles as “Professor”.

However, I’ve never been a teacher or professor by primary vocation. In the course of my career I have been tasked with some extra duties such as teaching Chemical Warfare, and Motorcycle Safety. The Motorcycle gig worked into an Adjunct Professor position involving many weekend for several years. I recently resigned that because the oil and gas management needs have pretty much taken over any free time I had to do riding instruction.

Pam, I sent you a friend request. Accept and I’ll copy a couple of screens for you to look at, make sure we are on the same page. I found that if you have a google toolbar it has it’s own pop-up blocker. Drove me crazy 'til I figured it out.

Linda, did they not have a sign posted? I would think that would be a regulation.

you don’t really take that lovely car on dusty, windy roads! It’s really cute-are you joking about it being a gas saver? I drive a mini-van & it saves lots of things [like my back :)] but not gas!

Pamela…P’s little car gets about 30 miles to the gallon and maybe a little better if it was all highway miles. It’s not as cute as it is in the picture though as it has hail dents all over it. It had them when we bought it off of Craigslist but he did have a new top on it. That’s why we don’t mind driving it on the dusty roads but it’s a bit more bumpy ride in it than my bigger car. My grand kids love it and call it “Papa’s race car” and he can turn it around in the middle of the highway without even getting on the shoulder. lol

I see several of my replies didn’t post-Hutch, I did accept your friend request, did try to get rid of the Google pop-up blocker but guess I was unsuccessful.

Rick, the Shift key did the trick-thanks, Prof!

Now I’m seeing that search box Hutch, and seeing docs-hurray! Now if I can just figure out what they mean…!

Hutch, I’m a quick study, “with a little help from my friends”, as the song goes! :). So, here’s another question: how does “friend messaging” work? [ok, now I’m embarrassed].

Linda, how exciting! You must put lots & lots of miles on your vehicle! Wonder if I can see them working on Google Earth? Just how long is that lateral?

Linda, it had never occoured to me that you may have been breaking rules. I should have made my comment question more clear, that I wondered that the site was not clearly marked because you did not sound certain what well you were looking at. When I was in construction, signs seemed more important to some people in a regulatory position than anything else.

Pam, when you get a message you will get an email that is from the person that sent it, not the forum. Open it and click on the link and it opens your inbox. In the top right of this page there is also a link to your inbox which will show if you have any new messages like (1) next to it.

Pam, you are a pretty quick study. We can still use the friend messaging for any lengthy conversations if needed.

Okay…I hope I have this right. I went down a long snakey (crooked) dusty lease road today which I believe led me to the Williams 1H-7X well drilled from section 19 just to see what I could see. I saw a BUNCH of big Baker Hughes trucks on the location and a few outside the location on the road. Also there was a truck that had the square plastic containers that I believe had chemical in them. The sign on the gate said "Danger, Explosives, (no phones or radios, no On Star vehicles) and all visitors must check in. There was no place to turn around without crossing the cattleguard and turning around on location so that I did. (I did turn off my cell phone first) Wow, that was a VERY busy place! After explaining what I saw to P. he said they were probably perforating so guess they will be fracing soon. If that lateral is as long as ya’ll say (through 19 and perforating in 18 and 7 it may take a little while longer than usual. But they are doing those wells faster all the time.

I’m sure your right r w but I couldn’t back up on that winding narrow road (I’m sure that would have been very dangerous too) I felt like I had no choice after I drove in there. I didn’t break any rules on the sign (I had no phone or radio on and no On Star vehicle) except it said for all visitors to check in with the office. I didn’t stay long enough to be called a visitor.

No signs before I got to the cattleguard that goes into the location. The road I believe was already there before they started drilling the well (up through the trees and cow pasture) because it didn’t look to be a new road. The only sign on the gate before I entered the road was one that said something about “Baker Hughes Access Road”. They don’t put the names of the wells on a sign many times until after it’s finished and everyone is gone. (Sometimes they do and sometimes they don’t) So I didn’t think much about that.

according to those OCC docs the Floyd 1-8 was spud in Dec. No further docs showing. Does it usually take this long to drill a well? And if they stopped drilling would there be docs filed to say when & why? This is by Triad, whose pooling order shows our dad’s name with no address, so I’m going to start calling them tomorrow to try and get that straightened out but if that well is going nowhere, I have other fish to fry right now.

Rick, I came back over here to rejoin and saw your note and clicked on what you had underlined and nothing else but the comment wall came up and had already come up for that is where I saw your statement. Baring any unforeseen circumstances all is well with comment wall now. Thanks

Pamela…Some of the guys that navigate the websites better than I will have to tell you how long the lateral is but if it goes through two plus sections it has to be a long one. (I’m guess at least 10,000’) and that is JUST a guess. Yes, I put quite a few miles on my car but when we go to the diggins much or the time we go in P’s gas saver.
