Garvin County, OK - Oil & Gas Discussion archives

Continental proposes to drill three Woodford and one Sycamore under 21-3n-4w. They have one Woodford and one Springer there now.

We live in section 28 4n 4w and husband said they are building a location just south of us and across the road east so I guess that’s in 27 4n 4w in Garvin. That’s too close for me but I guess it’ll make someone happy…probably my neighbor. I believe it’s on Bridwell’s land and he may have the minerals also. Is there a application for a well called something like Bob or Bonnie or Bridwell?

Somers well in 30&31-4N-4W was making 450 oil/day & 474K gas at the end of June reports.

Just got to thinking they may be drilling from that section 27 4n4w south across one of those 30 something sections. I’ve misplaced my map that tells what section is below section 27.

Newfield has been drilling 7-8 wells called the Ferguson and the Tinas in Section 14 and 23 Township 3N Range 4W in Garvin County. If all goes for your sections you can end up with a book of pages!!! Good luck.

I am an infrequent poster, but got a thick spacing order (I guess) request today from an atty for Casillas in Tulsa. One of the deals where they are an applicant before the Corp Comm. For starters the legal description regards:

Sections 1 and 12, Township 3N Range 4W in Garvin County.

It concerns horizontal well units, establishing 640 acre units for drilling and spacing for Mississippian, Woodford, and Hunton sources in those sections.

Many pages of known respondants, plus references to apparent existing sources, and locations within the plat area. Way above my head. I honestly don’t understand how the drillers, oil companies, etc can do business with such huge supply of mineral interest holders. Seems impossible.

At any rate, thought the info might mean something to someone.

Please share your knowledge.

Why would a large Oklahoma Oil/Gas company that normally only leases property want to buy property in Garvin County to expand their holdings in certain formations? This is supposedly being done to grow their holding in certain formations at the request of a potential partner or potential “Trade Partner”.

What type of “Trade Deal” might this be?

Chris H. This is usually the first step in obtaining state approval to drill. If they continue the process it will be followed by applications for pooling, location exceptions and other orders that might apply.

Anything happening in or around Sec 4, 5N 7W ?

Joellen, Lots of lease extensions in 2015 & 2016, some leases by several companies n 2017, so sounds like something is percolating. Unit drilled a horizontal well in the Hoxbar in 2015 in section 9 just south of 4.

Anyone have mineral rights in what I believe to be section 27 4n 4w and expecting a new well? If so your rig is up and running and I can see it from my house at night. Get excited!!!

Where the rig is sitting on section 27 4n4w I’m betting it probably is going to run south across 34 and maybe the next section south of there but I believe that would be in 3n4w. Or it may run north which would probably be section 22 4n4w. The rig is positioned on the east side of the section about 1/2 way down in that section. Any bells ringing now???

What do you think of the quality of this well, Marathon Somers 1-31-30? Oil = 491bbl/d, API 47 Springer formation

Gas = 524 Mcf/d

Water = 2 bbl/d

Initial pressure 385, choke 28/64

6,885’ horizontal length and 5,408’ perforated intervals

The well was to have a TD of 22,860 and cost $9,540,000 split 50-50. The TD was 19,333 so most of the cost and income will go to sec. 31. As of 7/28/17 it was doing 416 BO, 508 MCF

Is that 2 bbl of water per day real? And just how unusual is that?

1002A looks great.

Definitely not like 7 2N 3W. The Springer should have better longevity compared to the Woodford?

Sorry to be vague, My questions concern Section 34-3N-3W. Thanks
