Garvin County, OK - Oil & Gas Discussion archives

They will be drilling a multi-unit one horizontal well that will go through both sections. The spacing request usually means that a well will follow in due time.

I own a few acres of mineral rights in Section 28, 4N 3W. I got a notice this week that Rimrock Resource has applied for 640-acre spacing for sections 28 and 21. It is for the Woodford, Hunton and Mississippian zones at 7,900 to 8,400 feet. Can we assume they will be drilling a horizontal well in each section soon?

Another question for M Barnes. If the Okla. CC grants Rimrock their 640-acre spacing for Sections 21 and 28 of 4N 3W, , will they have to lease the sections from present mineral rights owners? If so, any idea of what the per-acre price might be?

Karla - Darla Ragland who is a member of this forum has been recommended as a landman, she is in Pauls Valley.

Paul, the spacing hearings can occur at any time and do not guarantee leasing. However, they are a good indicator of possible future activity and usually leasing happens shortly. If a well is to be drilled, the mineral owners must be leased or pooled so that all are included.

The nearest pooling to date had $1000 3/16 $0 1/4 in sec 18. 30 is pending right now, so would be even closer.

David, don’t let ā€œthereā€ and ā€œtheirā€ bother you too much. Many spellers are often confused by these 2 words. If you ask me, they both should be spelled ā€œtherr.ā€ This is the way the sound is spelled in ā€œcherryā€ and ā€œmerry.ā€ But enough spelling for now. Back to the oil patch.

ā€œtheirā€ not ā€œthereā€

Hi Linda . . . thanks for remembering about 4N 4W. Casillas is actually the producer, and I am receiving small royalties from them (the rest comes from Merit). The original inquiry was from Echo, who purchased my s-in-l’s half. I get 2 or more calls a month, never bother to write down the names. Low balls, I tell them what she got, they agree to match, I tell them what Tom Moore said a while back, and that’s the end. Our property is in Section 21 4N 4W. I’ll see if I can attach the description from the original 2/1992 deed. Let me know if this is what you were writing about. Thanks.

Coming back home last night we could still see the lights of the drilling rig SW of our place. I believe it to be in Township 4n, Range 4w. Don’t remember the exact section.

David Dutton…would that be the location you said Casillas came calling on you about? Casillas are riving up there drilling around here. Believe they are starting some stuff in T 3n R 3w or maybe 4n 3w because they have just dug and are filling a pit with fresh water probably for drilling and fracing. We have a little bit of minerals in 4n 3w so I’m voting for that if they ask me. Expecting them to call me any day now for my opinion. lol

I don’t really know David. We live in Sec. 28, 4n 4w and we can see the rig over W. of us a few miles and a little South.

Any one know of leasing/drilling in Section 2-4N-3E

J Paul…that was me correcting myself on the spelling of there when I meant their. lol As poor as I am in spelling and grammar I wouldn’t correct anyone else for sure. lol

Bob, Somers 0404 1-31-30SXH spud in late February, so generally two months to drill and complete. You might see a completion report in late August on the OCC site and then get a division order by October.

Thanks for the input, Mr. Barnes. I tried contacting Marathon several times but was unable to get anything specific about the Somers well.

Thanks, Jennifer!

Marathon started a two section well in 4N4W 30 & 31 in early February this year, almost 7 months ago. I have mineral interests in 4N4W 30 and have heard nothing from Marathon. Anyone know anything?

Karen- I only have about 1.5 net min. Acres. Can’t remember the name of the outfit, but I’ve had quite a few other offers recently that have come in the mail. I think the highest mail offer was $13,000. I think one was from Red Sky or Red Stone.

Jennifer – I also just got an offer, pretty good but not that good! Would you mind saying whether your offer was for small or large acreage? Do you remember if it was from Mineral Resources Co? They are apparently acting for CLR, trying to get out from under some 3/16 leases in 3N4W. They must have something big in the works…Right? Anybody know anything about this?

Bob,

http://imaging.occeweb.com/imaging/OGWellRecords.aspx OCC website to watch for the well info. Put 3104N04W into the location box since the surface location is in 31. When the completion report is posted, it will be there.
