Sorry and others but I should have posted about the Woodford/Hunter Flood in the Stephens Co. group as Ms. Hunter told me all the land sold to the companies was in Stephen’s Co. I threw her for a loop when I mentioned the flood because she didn’t know what that was (in oilfield language) and thought I was suggested it all flooded during the last rains. lol She’s a wonderfully sweet lady and I hated that I confused her and just let it drop that day.

Rhonda, I am a landman in Garvin County. If you would like to call or email me we can talk about what you need. I have done work for a couple others from the forum. darlaragland@att.net phone 405-238-1995.

I’m looking for a landman to assist with minerals in Section 8, 2N, 3W.

What are they offering for leasing around 1N 1W, last I received was for $400 -$500/acre and 20% royalty.

Thank you, Darla. My Aunt, Carolyn Freeze, will be contacting you.

Rhonda…Darla did a nice job for us as a landman.

Laura, in June, Red Sky offered 400 1/5, 500 3/16 for a 3 year lease, without an extension in 31.

Hi - it has been awhile since I posted. My sisters and I inherited some mineral rights in Sec 7, 3N, 4W. It has been going well for us. Just yesterday we were contacted by family in Oklahoma (we are all out of state) saying a Private Investigator was looking for us regarding some more mineral rights owned by my grandfather. The PI told my sister that he has been searching for my grandfathers direct descendants for quite some time. According to him there is quite a lot of money that has accumulated. Does this seem fishy? Is there a way I can search my grandfathers name and verify if he has any unclaimed mineral rights? We have a lawyer in OK who helped us with our original leasing, and he can assist now, but I wanted to find out if this is something that really does happen? Any information is much appreciated!

Darla, if we can’t get this stuff straight with Newfield my Aunt will be calling. We’ve been thru a legal mess the last few years and we’re hoping we’ve met their requirements for documentation.

Thank you so much Darla - I really appreciate it. Good to know, and I may give you a call.

Sandra- yes it does happen- I was contacted by a landman regarding minerals in TX that we had no idea we owned— it was my great grandfathers.

No, you will need to go to the county clerks office and do some digging. Or you can hire a landman to do a search for you. Darla Ragland, who is on this forum, is a landman. If I remember right, she lives in or around Garvin county. You can probably send her a friend request and see if she can help. It was worth hiring a landman for me.

Thanks Jennifer

Sandra, Have you looked in the Oklahoma state treasurer for unclaimed property? Ok.gov- check your grandfather and grandmothers names. Check your parents names. I’d be cautious of a PI. Have you asked for his state license number and verified it? I’m always skeptical. Are you sure it wasn’t a landman who called?

Sandra, one more thing- you can’t find minerals in the state treasurer, but any money that has been unpaid because they couldn’t locate the owner is sent to the state treasurers office after two or three years. Before that happens the oil company holds the money.

Is there anywhere online you can look up minerals?

Thanks

Rhonda, No problem. Newfield is pretty picky, but it is to safeguard that the money goes to the correct people.

Sandra, The PI probably did find some outstanding money for you, but normally they charge up to 15% to help you claim it. I would definitely check the treasurers office myself before having them do it for me. Here is my office number if you need help researching the minerals themselves 405-238-1995.

Jennifer - thanks so much for the information! I don’t know if it was a PI or a landman that contacted my sister, she said PI but who knows. He did have my grandfather’s name and he actually found us via relatives we have there in Lindsay. We do know that my aunt’s mineral rights did not go to her (she has since passed),well they did and then she had to hand them over to her father’s second wife and it is all a confusing mess. But the bottom line is that we are my grandfathers only heirs. We have no idea how many rights there are, the ā€œPIā€ told me sister there is several thousand dollars. I really appreciate your help!

Does anyone know the status of Newfield’s Williams 3H-7XX? It was spud on May 14 and is in Sections 7 & 18 of 2N - 3W.
