Garvin County, OK - Oil & Gas Discussion archives

David My comment below should have read:

The Davis Trust 1-7H top hole location is 18-3N-4W but all of the production will be from 7-3N-4W. There is not longer a rig on it and it is producing some oil. I might be able to get you some numbers next week.

If she owns rights in 7, she be getting paid on it.

anything going on in section 9 2n3w?

thanks,

mike

Rick, Thanks for the info. My moms land is in 7, but the Davis on 18 went under. Hoping for her that she will see something from this.

I’d better go to bed. too many typos!

Thanks Rick! Any production info would be greatly appreciated!

Yep, Heard someone say one time that ā€œthose who never make mistakes have never done anythingā€. By golly, I think that’s true!!! We just need to laugh at ourselves and go on. Makes life a whole lot more funner!

Rick, do you mind refreshing my memory as to the goings on in 17 2n 3w?

Mike,

Not really just hitting all around it in 3, 10, and 17 .

Actually it is not 17. 17 is only the surface hole for the Studdard. So the production will be 20 and 29.

Sorry about that.

Don’t sweat the small stuff Rick. You’re doing good.

Hoping someone can shed some light about a question I have. We have rights in multiple wells in Garvin and McClain Co. Most were drilled in the 80’s using the technology of the time and (I assume) tapping shallower formations. Is it likely that companies will come in and do horizontal wells under those old wells to get to larger plays?

All of our tracts seem to fall well within the Woodford as identified by the websites. However I don’t see where companies are drilling areas that were previously drilled or actively producing with a shallower well. Maybe I am looking in the wrong place.

Kirk,

It depends upon where you are located. If the Woodford is thick enough and in the right depth, then you have a chance. To get a sense of your acreage in relation to the current plays, read the Newfield, Continental and Marathon Oil recent investor presentations found on their websites. Look at their activity maps.

If anyone in the group has any working interest in any of the horizontal wells, it sure would be useful information for other mineral owners considering working interests to hear how actual expenses came in compared to the AFE.

Yesterday I drove through western Garvin County in the SCOOP south of Lindsay and Erin Spring. I have interests in three wells in Section 30, 4N, 4W, bordering Grady County. A lot of traffic down 70 out of Lindsay, mostly oil related. Most of the existing wells in that area are owned and serviced by Merit, bought from Anadarko. I think Anadarko reserved rights to drill deeper formations, such as the Woodford, but they are no longer active in Oklahoma, I’m told. Most of the oil service people I chanced to converse with were of the opinion that it is just a matter of time before more deals materialize for deeper horizontal wells. Hey Continental, Newfield, make a deal with Anadarko!

I will be at the Fergusons for CHRISTmas.

I plan to stay and run the trend.

Tom Ed

Bob, I’m sure you meant Highway 76 and yes, you are sure right about all the oilfield traffic. Merit does have a lot of wells around here but not doing any horizonal stuff that I know of here abouts. Someone told me they are doing their horizonal drilling down around Ardmore in cahoots with XTO. Don’t take that as gospel.

Make sure the big trucks don’t run you under while you run the trend!

Tom Ed, Salute! Please send my Season’s Greetings to the clan in West Garvin while there.

Linda,

I am too stupid to know what is happening.

I will run to Bryan County. It is fun, talking while worldwide ham radio operator s on Morse code as I drive.
