Small world, I used to work with two of the guys there. I wonder if I know you
Found the permit for this well / Petrovybe is listed as the operator. Permit approved in March 2024. Permitted TD of 9750ā with is in the Upper Wilcox section. This interval (as series of individual sands that can be gas traps tied to combination of structure and faulting) has been production along trend but not in this immediate area west of Highway 77.
There is an old dry hole about 1000ā from this new location - thinking that Petrovybe is playing off of something seen in that well.
I heard that EOG/Redhawk is looking to first drill / make units on the San Luis Energy leases made in the late spring-early summer of 2023ā¦because they are expiring ??? I searched the county and these are 3/2ās so I guess they just donāt want to pay the 2 year option fee ? or does anyone know since these were assigned to them that they cannot tender the 2 year option ??? it sounded strange to me when I heard thisā¦
Redhawk will be starting to run its pipeline of water to the CR 226 unit site. This water is coming from the 82 acre tract off of CR 240. the temp pipeline will go to CR 231, then CR 230, then CR 228, then CR 229 to Cr 226. This is a ways since it starts just south of FM 532 and heads northā¦but I have seen them go even further before (EOG). No permits filed yet for this Redhawk unit.
Thatās encouraging news. Itās hard to figure actual distance but doing it the lazy way it looks like about five miles the way you describe? Plus they could probably cut off a lot of that distance if they paid a minor sum for damages to run it through some pastures, particularly right after they cross Rocky Creek. But then again, I have no idea what the going rate is for that kind of thing.
Various things could be going on and it is highly dependent on the lease provisions. In this area, given that is it more speculative/exploratory, the lease bonuses are not very high so extending a lease/picking up the option is not going to be cost prohibitive. I doubt EOG would drill a well instead of extending the leases. That being said, it would also depend on the agreement between San Luis and EOG. For example, they could have done an outright sale or done a term assignment/farm-out. If it was the latter, then there could be a different clock running whereby EOG would need to drill a well(s) or else convey the acreage back to San Luis.
Looks like Blackshear was drilled with a pilot hole of 13,337ā then they kicked out and drilled their lateral landing at a TVD of ~12,785ā. The lateral was drilled toe up about 1-2 degrees drilling up about 230ā across the lateral. Still no returns that I can find, though.
A little data on Francis 1H. IPād ~1200 BOPD and ~6.2 MMCFD in February. Output remained about the same in March. Not bad.
Has anyone driven by the pecan orchard lately?
Drove by the pecan orchard on Sunday. There was no sign of any progress or new activity with regards to this location. Still, just a solitary stake out in a hayfield!
Drove by last week and I did see 2 corner post marked about a mile west of the tract that has the 8 foot marker on it. This could indicate that the unit will be positioned to the northwest of the marker instead of heading southeast towards us 77. During the Lavaca county comm. meeting the second week of July EOG asked for the waterline road usage as I indicated in a previous post and it was approved. these lines are going to this unitā¦however, I have seen a lag time of these permits being approved and the construction of the pad of about 2 months. I have not seen as yet a permit for the county road usage. The other Redhawk unit on FM 957 and CR 206 is totally marked off each individual tract however, no water or road usage permits have been requested.
Lwhat road # did you see the the markers
Pardon me, but I must have dozed off during the earlier discussion about āā¦the other Redhawk unit on FM 957 and CR 206ā¦ā. Is that somehow related to the earlier posts about Petrovybe or is it something else?
The is a marked Redhawk unit that includes the corner of FM 957 and CR 206ā¦about 1-2 miles south of Blackshear unit. This Redhawk unit goes across FM 957 towards and including the Lavaca riverā¦at that point the river runs south/north. No permits filed and no request for water pipeline or road usage yet. All corner post have been markedā¦unlike the CR 225/CR226 unit.
On CR 226 west of the 8 foot marker..about 1 mile + from it.
1200 BOPD is a large amount. Is this a 24 hour IP ?, 30 day IP ? No update on the RRC site for production results.
My Guy showed me a Sneaky Pete way to see production figures without having to fool with the 1990ās website of the RRC. Go here:
Note that you may have to refresh it or actually type in the URL or otherwise fool around with it but youāll get there.
Bottom line is that Francis produced 33,617 bbls in February so divide by 28 for 1200. Also 31,934 in March for about 1030. Even have data for Blackshear which Iām told just appeared in the last couple of days. First output was 16,903 but most likely for a partial month.
CONG reports are disposition volumes and sales for a particular month, not the production volumes. The RRC reports show both the production and disposition volumes. For oil, the RRC lists BBl on hand at beginning of month + BBL produced - BBL disposed = BBL at end of month.
Blackshear started flowback on 6/15ā¦so would that be the day the production began ? or is it laterā¦
Technically that would be Day 1 of production.
June production figures should be posted on Tx RRC sometime in August / normal two-month delay
Not that it is directly relevant to the wells being discussed, but keep in mind that RRC reporting for oil wells differs from gas wells. Oil wells are reported on a lease basis and gas wells are reported on a well basis. So if youāre looking at a unit with multiple wells permitted as oil wells, thatās the entire production for the lease not per well. Just sharing as an FYI.
Any activity around the potential new location? Any additional info or rumors on the Blackshear well?
