Father passed - Mineral Rights

My father passed away in 2018 and owns 70+ acres mineral rights in Doddridge County. My Mom is 86 and would like to clean up the chain of heirs for our parcels. Do I need to hire an attorney to prepare a legal transfer document or is this something we can do through a county office? Thank you.

You should have an attorney draw up any paperwork and give legal advice as to how to pass it along. The county office staff cannot give legal advice. It must be done properly or it will cause issues down the road.
