Drilling activity in McClellan district

Has there been any new drilling or permitting activity in McClellan district, Doddridge County WV? I have received an offer for my mineral rights and trying to research other companies who might be willing to make an offer and history of past sales.. I am also interested on tips on how to find a lawyer or landman for advice. This is all new to me and a bit overwhelming  TIA

Yes there have. Here is the website for searching documents for Doddridge: http://129.71.118.43/ That can be intimidating, but maybe start with searching for firm : Antero and select dates for the last 2 or 3 months just to get an idea. There is a lawyer who sometimes posts on this site who can help you: Kyle Nuttall. He could offer advice about selling or leasing.

These have been drilled and are producing,

Antero Royalty checks are supposed to be sent by the end of September

Thanks, I finally got that site to work ! and thanks for the lead too.

Thanks, still a bit lost. Is your image from WVDEP Oil&Gas Well Information

@flash - I would research Oil and Gas Petroleum Advisors or West Virginia Petroleum Advisors. I know of a few from Morgantown, WV, and Fairmont, WV. It may be a while before Antero gets to that area for development, and I would suggest not selling if you don’t need to.

Thanks, I will ck them out.

Welcome to the community.

At first it is rather overwhelming but look at it this way you didn’t go to them trying to sell what you have they came to you which means you have something they want and they want it as cheap as you will allow them to get it. First place it is not the o&g company coming after it it is a landman and he is looking to make a fool out of you because he already has a deal with the o&g company and wants to get rich off of you. Now if it’s just to much for you to undertake then absolutely get an attorney which to them you look like dollar signs but they can get you a somewhat higher bonus and higher royalties but it will cost you.

Most important is you have the internet and there is all the info you could want at your fingertips such as forums like this. One such place I would check out would be wvsoro and provide some very good info. I would never sell my mineral rights unless the money was a difference of life and death. If you keep your rights you have an asset that keeps on giving if you sell you just have a pocket full of money that you will burn through quickly.

Remember you got it and they want it you decide what it’s worth within the market parameters good luck and ask questions and do plenty of research. Remember a landman will tell you anything to get what you have ask me how I know this right now it’s yours to have and to hold until stupidity does you apart cherish what you have and don’t give it away and this is not just for you but any who are or may face this situation

Well, I am 78yo, poor health, we live in Utah, no kids, no heirs, hence, I wish to sell. Is there somewhere I can offer my parcels for sale? How can I obtain more offers? Thanks!

I would research Oil and Gas Petroleum Advisors or West Virginia Petroleum Advisors. I know of a few from Morgantown, WV, and Fairmont, WV. You may want to reach out to Antero Resources, the drilling operator. They purchase as well.

Thanks, I will seek offers thru the advisor groups and Antero direct.

I know if you need a land man look up Nick Criado from mountain view Minerals. Probably good to have an advisor and he doesn’t charge that much

Thanks! I will contact him,

You can also try T&B Mountaineer. they’re local to the area in Clarksburg and may be able to give you more information about the area.

Thanks, appreciated.
