Checking production on your well from the TRRC map

After much frustrating trial and error here is what works for me. I hope it helps someone else.

I used to type the well name in on the production area but that’s a pain and you have to know each well number.

Go to the TRC site:

http://www.rrc.state.tx.us/data/online/index.php#

Launch the GIS Map viewer.

Choose your county.

Choose “center map” from Map tools and click where your well is.

Click on Zoom in 3X. (I usually do this twice after centering again if need be)

Now from the Map tools drop down menu choose: Identify Wells.

Click on your well.

A window will pop up (make sure you have pop up blocker off, or click at the top of your screen to accept pop ups for TRC).

There will be a link on the new window that says “Operator/Wellbore/PDQ”.

Click on it.

Another window will pop up with a link that says “Production Data Query (PDQ)”, click on it.

This will show any production that is currently listed at TRC.

Here is an example:

Search Criteria:

Lease Name: UNICORN, Lease No.: 256812, Well No.: 1H Well Type: Gas District: 09 Lease Production and Disposition Date Range: Feb 2010 - Jan 2011

This table shows production data for the lease and well number indicated.

Thanks for the info. Looks like the production data is several months behind. This will be very useful in the future.
