After much frustrating trial and error here is what works for me. I hope it helps someone else.
I used to type the well name in on the production area but that's a pain
and you have to know each well number.
Go to the TRC site:
http://www.rrc.state.tx.us/data/online/index.php#
Launch the GIS Map viewer.
Chose your county.
Chose "center map" from Map tools and click where your well is.
Click on Zoom in 3X. (I usually do this twice after centering again if need be)
Now from the Map tools drop down menu chose: Identify Wells".
Click on your well.
A window will pop up (may sure you have pop up blocker off, or click at the top of your screen to accept pop ups for TRC)
There will be a link on the new window that says " Operator/Wellbore/PDQ".
