It is a Well Record Only filing, but it does provide some valuable info. The G-1 form shows that the well was drilled to a TVD of 18,551 feet.
Top of Bossier was encountered at 16,259 TVD, and Haynesville at 17,640, so the Bossier interval is 1,381 feet thick at the well location. No other formation was listed down to the completion depth of 18,551, so the presumption is that the Haynesville is at least 911 feet thick. The entire Bossier/Haynesville interval is more than 2,292 feet thick at this location, indicating the possibility of multiple landing zones.
I think the data strongly suggest that whoever is behind this test well (best guess is Expand/Chesapeake) is going after the same target zones as Aethon, Comstock, and Mitsui.
Now we wait for a drilling permit…

The Bossier Formation gets a lot thicker and the top is deeper the further South and South East you go in Houston County. The Richards well is Southwest of Crockett and the Cook is just East of Crockett on Hwy 287.
There has been Multiple 2D shoots in the Area of the Yancy well as well as way south and east of it. PGS had a 500 plus square mile 3D shoot back 15 plus year’s ago that was so big it took three separate phase’s to complete. The potential area is Huge and Mult-County. Do not be tempted to accept a bad long term lease! Insist that you know who the lease broker that contacts you tells you in writing who they are working for and it is on your lease. Know whom you are dealing with!
Most likely this well will be drilled horizontal in the near future. See Mr. Herrington’s post in this topic above.
A large Old Estate with about 1,800 acres of mineral rights was offered $8,700/Net. Mineral Acre in and around the Yancy Well location area in the last two weeks. Why would a mineral owner then accept a 4 year lease with an option for less than $350/net. mineral acre?
