I just got a $950 and 3/16ths offer on S34-T3S-R4E. By the way according to the Oklahoma Geological Survey, the closer the property is to the granite of Johnston County without being granite, the higher the oil content. The edge of the granite runs northwest to southeast in our vicinity and I think you are in a sweet spot and so am I. At current oil prices a "good" oil well in the Ardmore Basin which is what I see our area being called is grossing tens of thousands per year per acre for oil alone. So good for you! Luck to both of us.
Hi all , I have section 29 and 39 4south 5east in Johnson county and section 31 in Marshall county leased to XTO. I see in the OCC well browse that they have named wells in both sections of Johnson county. I am anxious to see a division order, hopefully soon, on these wells. Anybody else know anything about what is going on in these areas? I am getting excited about this. With the economy now, I could really use some good income now. I hope everybody has good luck.
That sounds great. Do you have a lawyer to review the division order? I understand that there can sometimes be discrepancies between the division order and the lease. I have two wells underway, one in 3-4-4 Johnston County (Bankers Petroleum) and one in 4-5-5 Marshall County (XTO). BNK ran into a lot of trouble on that well and it has gone on over 3 years with no production yet. XTO started drilling in April, but no income yet. I have read that it typically takes a year to receive the first payment, but the first year of production should be quite good before settling down to the long term average. I calculated that I will receive about $400 per year per acre for $4 gas long term. We'll see if my math is right one of these days. The exciting thing is the relatively high oil and liquid content of the gas in our area, which is now going by the moniker Ardmore Basin. If XTO does a good job of hydraulic fracturing, the oil and liquids could bring in thousands per year per acre. So I hope everyone has good luck too! I think there is more than good luck involved, though, as Atlas is going to build a new pipeline with XTO as a major user. And another pipeline company announced a month ago that they are reversing the flow in their pipeline to carry oil from Oklahoma to the Gulf Coast. So it sounds like this is the real deal.
That's great news. I have some right in section 21 of 04S Range 04E in Johnston County and just looked up basic well information on that area. I currently am leased at 3/16ths to XTO, but I noticed active gas wells there under BNK? They appear to be producing. I am showing tons of XTO activity in surrounding sections, but not in section 21. Can two operators be drilling the same piece of land with one producing and the other yet to drill? Was glad to see such activity in my section, but would be even more glad if I was getting paid! -- Confused at OCC

There have been wells in 21-4-4 including half of Mannsvile but as far as I know they were shut in in the 1980’s and now abandoned. Thus the new well application, which just got extended far into 2012. What is the date on the wells you were looking at? And I remember trouble looking up that section on the OCC web site. I kept getting wells that were really one township over. So check the dates and double check the legal description. My father received a tiny royalty check 30 years ago then nothing. I think the prospects must be good in 21-4-4 because the division order under Mannsville has got to be a nightmare. It took them months to admit I was an owner when I sent in my participation money. The old Mannsville field from the early 1900’s was a good field for a few decades. But if you find out there are more current wells it depends on the OCC spacing and pooling order whether it applies to your property. Anyway, we did not get lease offers until this XTO activity. They must be after the old Mannsville Field source rock. The BNK wells I am most familiar with are north of Mannsville. Two of their early ones are next to that historic cemetery almost to the river. I can’t remember the name of the town that was platted but never really made a town up there. XTO seems to be interested in the old Madill field too. One of my wells is directly across the highway from the Madill airstrip. It is west of the Madill field but probably shares source rock. Anyway, as I said before, the Ardmore basin we are in is relatively good for oil, not as good as North Dakota but we are covered up in pipelines and they just burn the gas off in ND. With so many coal fired electric generating plants slated for closure, gas may go back up to $6 too. What a boon to the economies of Johnston and Marshall counties! An area that deserves a break.
Thanks Cooper. I see two gas wells both named GLENN on 21-4-4. Drilled in 2008 and first producing in 2009. These are BNK wells. They are both showing production in 2011 of over 200K totals (I don't know what the unit is for gas).
I just did a broad search under 21-4-4. When I type in XTO along with that, it doesn't show any activity in 21.
So it appears there are two active BNK gas wells where I own mineral rights. My family has leased these same rights to XTO. So, do you know what's going on? Shouldn't I have been notified by BNK about the wells there? Getting paid? Thanks Cooper.

MIght be the same well: 3506920119 is the API number. One has an "M" of IM and one has an "M" of Indian.

It looks like there is at least one gas well drilled in 21-4-4 back in 2008 by BNK. It was completed in 2009 and shows production of over 200K in 2011 (I don't know the unit for gas or if that's substantial or not).
So since my mineral rights are on that property, shouldn't i be getting paid for that, or contacted at least? Just did a 3/16ths lease with XTO for same property. The situation is a bit confusing. Any insights are helpful. Thanks Cooper.
I had a few minutes tonight and looked up what wells are in the case (hearing) files of OCC. There is no case in 21-4-4 except the current XTO case. There are BNK cases in 21-4-5. Something does not jibe. Even when I have been leased, I have received notices of drilling permits applied for. I am inclined to think this is a typo. I will try to call the OCC database folks Tuesday and see what they can explain. They have been kind and helpful in the past. If I don't understand the answer, I will ask my attorney about it. By the way I am pretty sure IM and Indian M both mean Indian Meridian as the only other meridian in Oklahoma has a completely different name and does not apply to the survey of our part of Oklahoma.
Most helpful. Thanks!

Took me forever but here is the straight scoop from the very helpful OCC guy a few minutes ago. Quite a logical explanation. Glenn 16-1H shows up under 21-4-4 because the TOP of the well is on Mr. Glenn’s land in section 21. The BOTTOM of the well, where the owners get the royalties, is in 16-4-4. So if you saw a well cap in one section you could look it up in that section, even though the royalty owners are a section over where the bottom of the well is. If only I had figured out the naming convention this would have been obvious. 21-4-4 is getting a well but the time limit has been extended. I just heard on the radio this morning that Chesapeake is pulling its drill rigs out of the dry gas areas into our wet gas area. So it really is an oil rush to the Ardmore Basin. However small the oil and condensate content is, they will pull gas out of our wells no matter how low the gas price goes just to get the liquids. As long as oil stays high our area near the Tish granite is the place to drill.
