I was looking on the RRC and found that Marathon requested confidentiality for the basic electric log on one of our wells - this is for a period of 2 years... what does this mean??
It means that it is tighthole.
What is a tighthole?

I guess it means confidential. So therefore, only Marathon could tell you what it means, but they won't because it's tighthole. CATCH 22!
The RRC rules allow the companies the right to keep their logs private for a period of 2 years so as to keep competitors from knowing what they got in their newly drilled or re-completed well. After 2 years the log will be released to the public unless the RRC changes the rules.
